Not quite what we were expecting in terms of atmosphere. We found it noisy (perhaps a bit too casual) - The Cove Restaurant. The staff were ok and the service was fair. Had an issue with a plate of food (linguine) which wasn’t charged for but felt the prices were a little high for the food anyway. Other starters and mains were average and as a family of 5 nothing stood out for anyone.Wanted more. Left underwhelmed.A shame really.PB 😏

We booked a stay for our friend's 40th birthday and we had a great time. The rooms were clean and well decorated, we actually booked a room without a sea view but if we went again, we would definitely book a sea view one as the views are breathtaking. We all ate in The Cove restaurant which has a large menu with lots of varied choice and they have a wood fired pizza oven in there as well. All the staff were really friendly and it felt like they couldn't do enough to help us. The swimming pool was great and we all enjoyed using this after a day out walking.

My partner booked as a surprise for my birthday and we loved it. We had a balcony room which was spacious and well decorated and the balcony was amazing with such stunning views. My partner had booked for us to have the prosecco afternoon tea which was fab, it came out on a stand and the cakes were to die for! We also ate in The Cove restaurant and food was excellent and great value for money. The swimming pool and facilities were great and there is a secluded beach right next to the hotel.

Excellent stay in a fab hotel. We booked the luxury sea view balcony room which had a big bath tub in front of a window with stunning sea views. The balcony was lovely again with stunning sea views. Food was superb and staff extremely professional and very friendly. There is a secluded beach right next to the hotel. Highly recommend this hotel.

I went for my best friend’s wedding. The food was very very bad. The potatoes felt like I was eating a rock I struggled to eat it and swallow it. The chicken was dry and very bland. Food was not very warm. Boiled vegetables did not taste good at all. Could not eat the food. Then I was excited to try the Indian food however the food was even more worse. It tasted bitter to me. The food had no taste whatsoever. I couldn’t eat more than 3 spoons of food, even to have that much it was difficult. I had an upset tummy the next day as well from just the little amount of food I had. Food was absolutely disgusting, unfortunately. Food is a huge part of the wedding as everyone is exhausted and hungry on the day, so food is something everyone looks forward to. However, the food was a huge let down. I went home extremely hungry and with an upset tummy. Not eating proper food the entire day is not a great feeling so I can’t imagine what the bride and groom and their families must have felt.I don’t think they should serve food they cannot actually make and make people unwell. Huge disappointment.

What a lovely hotel! We stayed here for a night in January just to get away for a bit. Glad we did. Great bar and restaurant (there are two to choose from). We had dinner, breakfast and lunch, all of which were well made and presented. The pool (one of the reasons we chose the hotel) did not disappoint and we got good use out of it.Then there are the views and location of course. Gorgeous and the hotel makes the most of the views. The room was just right for us. We chose aj adjoining family room. This gave our son a bit of space to himself, which he appreciated.A very relaxing weekend get away. The staff added to the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. We shall be returning.

We booked The Sandy Cove Hotel for our wedding in September and we weren't disappointed. Our day was fabulous! The venue was stunning, and the food at the hotel was fantastic. Make sure you book the highest grade rooms. We look forward to visiting again soon!

We knew as soon as we saw the location of the hotel that we were in the right place!  The hotel has made a fantastic effort of creating a special location with the The Venue placed in the perfect spot on the cliff and by adding an alternative room for wet weather.  The platform that goes out from the spot you say your vows means that you get amazing photos with the view in the background.  It really is well thought out and the whole look is stunning.  We met Lucy on the morning of the wedding and straight away she put us at our ease and we felt like she had a good grasp on everything that was going to happen and we were in good hands!  The evening bar manager, Chris, was again calm, in control and really friendly.  Everyone on the day helped it go amazingly well and you realise later that so much happened without you even noticing!  We had a fab room (room 7) to get ready in and spend the first night.  It sets the tone of your day really well and there was plenty of room for two brides to get ready and for the make up artist and hairdresser to work comfortably. The Venue looked fantastic.  The furnishings are smart, the room is a great size and the lighting really adds to the atmosphere. We had enough room for our tables to be set up and the DJ to set up in the morning so the whole day was ready to go once the ceremony was underway.  We had canapes and drinks before the reception and we were lucky enough for the weather to remain dry so could take our time outside.  At no point did Lucy rush us but instead calmly moved us from one thing to the next.  The food was excellent and so many of our guests commented on how impressed they were with their food choices.  The team put out your wedding menu choice cards on the table so there’s no danger of anyone forgetting what they ordered!  They also set up the tables in the morning.  All we had to do was drop off what was to go on the tables and it was all done for us.  At the end of the night we had to clear away the personal items we brought for decorating the room.  This could be easily forgotten but luckily I had my Dad primed for that – I would recommend you telling someone to be prepared to do this as it’s not something you focus on when you’re newly married!  They also cut up your cake and put it out for your guests if you want them to.The whole day goes by in a blur but it all seemed relaxed and easy and we put that down to having such a great team co-ordinating the day.   Everything went exactly as we had hoped on the day and we can’t think of a thing we would change! Thank you so much Lucy and Chris and to the whole Sandy Cove team.  We have amazing memories of our wedding and stay and would love to do it all again!

Staff and location were perfect; Our room had an amazing view, the public areas were very comfortable, modern and spacious. The staff were always very friendly, particularly the restaurant waiters and chefs, nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast menu had plenty of choice, the restaurant had dishes to suit all pockets and tastes that could be mixed and matched. There was also a more select, taster menu.Walks, though hilly, from the hotel were lovely as it was just beside the SW coast path. There is an indoor pool and sauna. Activities to suit all fitness levels.
