Saunton Golf Club Restaurant in North Devon

Oct '21. Lunch time...The service was prompt, friendly and polite. The food was of a high standard. The menu is 'up market' and the presentation is first rate. The location is accessed from the car park which is chargeable.This Grill / bistro is a welcome change to the usual seaside offer.Dog friendly if you sit on the outside terrace.

Great customer service, delicious food and I managed to bag the best seat in the house. All after a long hard days work it was perfect.

Lunch on a wet horrible day. We shared chicken wings, a salad and a treacle ginger tart. All was delicious! My only gripe was that the order specified the number of wings in a portion: we were short-changed. When I pointed this out it was treated very casually... Wrong to do so ... and irritating. I would go again: the food was good and the view stunning.Went again for another lunch and it really was very nice. This time it was sunny and tables full. People waiting who hadn't booked. Friendly staff.

Great food, unfortunately ran out of a few faves but that's not their fault I guess. Delivery issues. Fab location, sitting watching the Sun set.. very special. Dogs allowed outside on the balcony so it was extra special having everyone together ❤

Nice food.This is not a restaurant to book for larger parties. We were a party of 11 and were sat across two different tables. We rang on the day and asked to add another 2 to our party, but were told there was not space. However, when we ate our meal the restaurant was half empty and the tables contained signs saying 'sanitised and available'. Although the staff were polite we did have to order drinks with them few times. Overall fairly disappointed considering we spent nearly £500 for our evening. Would be good to have an explanation as to why we were not able to move tables in an empty and unbooked restaurant to sit together, and why we could not add others to our booking?

Lovely little place, arrived for our booking, in and sat within 2 mins. No outdoor tables free but the girl said she would get us one asap. 5 mins later she gave us a table and we were enjoying the sun and lovely views. Service brilliant, Food was amazing, we ate out for 5 days and by far this was the nicest! Thanks

The mussels here are exceptional!! On point every time cooked in Devon red cider, shallots, apple and cream with a side of delicious bloomer. The battered squid starter was also really good but a shame that it’s only 3 pieces! Still tender with a sauce that’s to-die-for!

Had lunch outdoors on the balcony this week and it was brilliant. We did have to wait a while for an outside table, but it was worth it. The food was amazing as was the view. I had risotto, my partner had the burger. The treacle tart was delicious.😊

Opted for takeaway (only started doing this from 12 April and there’s click and collect option too). Great tasty food and fresh alternative to the usual bar grub or sandwiches. Plenty of open air terrace and Covid safe seating is available and dog friendly is a plus

Positives: Great location on Saunton Sands, partial views of the beach, lovely external seating area with solid wooden benches adhering to social distancing, reasonable priced menu with a good variety for all tastes including vegan, dog friendly, clean toilets, waiter service, bar and short wait for a table. Negatives: the bar menu was pretty limited as they'd sold out of most bottled largers and cocktails by 3pm (stock control or busy day?) and the adjacent car park was private + expensive.
