SQ Bar & Restaurant in North Devon

What a delight this place is! A fantastic menu, superb quality food, cool decor, really lovely staff and fun stuff like cocktail making as well! Very highly recommended.

We decided to visit SQ Bar and Restaurant while staying in Barnstaple for a short break. We had a warm welcome into the modern, clean environment and both ordered the English breakfast. It didn’t disappoint with quality products cooked very well. The coffee is also exquisite and served with a Monbana biscuit. Looking at there full menu, I will be back again for either breakfast to try the eggs Benedict on the Thai Green curry on the mains and the Black Forest Fool which has my name all over it.

Lovely atmosphere and reasonably priced. Would definitely go again when back in the area as I'm not local. The food looked good and ordered a sharing platter which was plenty for 2 Adults.

Nice restaurant with plenty of options on the menu and quick and welcoming service. I had amazing special- a roasted duck which was delicious. Camembert was tasty too. Cocktails were great, especially espresso martinis. And there was a good selection of wine. Sadly, when we were given plates for our startes they were all dirty - greasy and with breadcrumbs - which shouldn't have happened.

Clean well staffed which are friendly and helpful. The food looks great as well. There's seating down stairs but also upstairs which has a part where you can sit and drink/eat while watching what's going on around the village. They do a lot of different things to raise money for charity and sometimes you can go there for crafting, but there is one draw back to this (which I find and think is totally unfair) and that is if you like and would love to join in with the crafting sections they're held on the upper level which your only able too get to by the staircase. There is NO lift for disabled people to use very sad this. But it is well worth going in and enjoying the lower level any day and even on the charity nights x

Had a wonderful meal! Excellent service, very good value for money, generous portions of food, a lovely atmosphere. The staff were very welcoming & attentive. Highly recommend a visit!

Fabulous cocktails, great seating and friendly staff. A little bit too dark on the drinking side of the bar but I realise its meant to be. Food is amazing, though sadly this night the chips were a bit underdone.Highly recommended though 👍

Having eaten at Squires the previous evening, I wasn't sure what to expect from SQ, the posher side of their business. I was really impressed with everything, starting with the greeting on arrival, which was great. We were shown to our table and very soon after had our drinks and the menu. The choice of food is extensive and not overly priced, which given the environment that's been created is quite rare. Having made our choices we looked forward to the eating, which again didn't disappoint. The portions were large and the taste delicious. Once the meal was over we went downstairs to the lounge and enjoyed a couple of cocktails. If you want to treat yourself to a bit of fine dining that won't break the bank, I'd highly recommend SQ.

Had a lovely lunch here in July ‘21. Nice little town, seriously busy s as a through way to parts of north Devon. SQ has a lovely rooftop terrace. Staff were extremely accommodating and friendly. Awesome breakfast served until 4pm. Also has a wonderful beef brisket nachos. Mm
