Squires Fish Restaurant in North Devon

It looks like a stylish upmarket restaurant, and there’s potential, but I found the menu pedestrian. Usual fish and chips fare, cod, salmon but no sea bass or other choice of fish dish. If you’re not into fish, there’s burgers plus vegetarian and vegan choice. My wine glass still wet straight out the washer, not impressed. By the looks of other guest plates, large portions. I had the vegetarian burger, (because I can have cod and salmon at home), which was not bad. A nice place as such but not one I’d return to again.

This is a good up market fish and chip shop. Seating is comfortable and the meal was great. Good mushy peas, excellent moist cod and just the right amount of batter around the fish, which was not greasy. We had a good cup of tea and it was served in a teapot with additional hot water. Couldn't fault anything. . Thank you Squires.

We had delicious fish and chips from Squires! Ordered online which was simple and easy, when we arrived there was a dedicated click and collect queue and our order was ready straight away. Food was well packaged and portions were generous!

As someone who is gluten free, I always make it as clear as i can to them, to keep my food separate from the other food I’m purchasing for my family.However the last 4 or 5 times they throw everything together with no labels on, even ordering my food under two payments to keep things separate.So in the end I throw my food in the bin 🗑 I’m not going to take a roulette to see if my order will make me Ill, due to ignorance.

Absolutely amazing food... And tremendous value for money! Had the signature cod&chips and was not disappointed. Food came quickly and was piping hot... Will definitely be visiting again 😁

Best fish and chips in North Devon. Take away and restaurant both great. Gluten free options, lovely fresh fish and the curry sauce is magnificent!

Fantastic food and huge portion size! Their fish tasted very fresh and the batter was done right!The fish curry was surprisingly delicious and came with both chips and rice. We also upgraded the chips to a cheesy version which was amazing!The service was fast, the seats were spacious, clean and comfortable. I highly recommend this place for a quick but fine meal out.

Use to get takeaway from here when we were on holiday in the area, it was always really tasty. Booked into the restaurant this time round and the fish was still excellent. Well cooked, flakey and not too much batter. Good portion sizes for the price. If you love fish and chips you have to visit.

Very delicious and affordable mains. Good portions. The coconut based fish curry is highly recommended.

Excellent fish and chips! We walked-in Squires at around 5pm. Got seated really quickly, ordered our food. Absolutely delicious food, service brilliant.
