Stopped here after a long walk from Lynmouth Holiday Retreat. We were there at the stroke of twelve and the place soon filled up fast. Beautiful vegetarian Sunday roast (full menu also available) and we sat on the outside upper deck area. Friendly staff. Definitely worth the walk!

Lovely pub, good atmosphere, really friendly and helpful staff. Amazing food we had, note they don't service food in the bar area after 6pm, the restaurant was fully booked also! They cant recruit enough staff apparently, well worth going to though, very busy which is a good sign and everything was perfect for our last day in Devon.

I had a lovely meal with my friend. Food was great and service brilliant. Not entirely sure why they sat people on the table immediately next to us when the restaurant was not busy, but it was still and very pleasant evening. We will be back.

We visited a couple of times and both visits the food was fantastic.I had the mussels again today and they were delicious, bigger and better than anything I’ve had in Brittany and on par with a awesome place I use in port en bessin Normandy .. Great customer service. Stylish decor with a quirky twist. Delicious food and drink. Clean. Alfresco, Bar & Restaurant dining areasLooking forward to coming back in the summer to sit on your new outside terrace . Well done guys, you should be very proud of what you’ve done here.

I dont normally make a review but this one is exceptional. Due to early closing of other restaurants we went into this place for food. The soup and bread taste very delicious. The mushrooms mariner that my wife had also taste gorgeous. We enjoyed our meal very much. The staffs are friendly and welcoming, we will definitely go again if we visit this area in the future .

Amazing food made from scratch. When I am dining at Pubs I always have a burger and the one I ate at The Ancient Mariner was the best I every had! Lovely place. Great decor! Friendly staff.

We booked a table here based on recent reviews. We were not disappointed! The Sunday roast is terrific. It's lush. 7 different vegetables, my beef was cooked perfectly; I was even asked how I liked it cooked! Brilliant. Gravy delicious and roast potatoes were great. Yorkshire puddings as you can see are prodigious. Also some lovely ales from Exmoor brewery on tap and we ordered a bottle of red as well. A very special thanks to the team as the first bottle was vinegary but they changed it for a different one with absolutely no fuss. Overall we were very pleased indeed and would come back again without hesitation. Very highly recommended.

Have been before to the pub part. Busy, popular and a nice place. Ate in the restaurant part this evening and had a very nice burger and fries. Wife enjoyed her Sunday roast, which was huge. Will be back
