Stayed for one night at the beginning of January. Very friendly owners and staff who were very helpful with their local knowledge. Clean and well appointed bedroom. My lunch, evening meal, and breakfast were all excellent. Highly recommend the Blue Ball Inn for anyone staying in the area.

Our 2nd visit, great accommodation and food, owners and staff very helpful and friendly and welcoming. Great place to stay if you like walking on the moors. Need to book if you looking at visiting for Sunday lunch, good assortment of local beers & lager.

Had dinner last night with 2 colleagues and was underwhlemed, all 3 of us this morning are not feeling right. We all had the mushroom starter of which the mushrooms were not cooked enough, ciabatta bread was almost raw on the inside but very brittle on the outside suggesting cooking in an over far too hot. The mash on mains was pretty dry, and could have done with fluffing up a bit, and steak pies although full of good meat were pretty overcooked with the pastry. Overall a poor dining experience, that only redeeming feature was the friendly service staff.

We were staying at The Blue Ball during storm Eunice, which left the pub without power. This could have made our stay less enjoyable, but we actually had an amazing weekend thanks to the lovely owners and staff. We were greeted on the Friday night by a really friendly atmosphere, candlelight, roaring fires and a well stocked bar! They really went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and fun against the odds. My parents love staying at The Blue Ball and we totally understand why. It's such a special place and we can't wait to come back for the walking weekend we'd originally planned!

Would not recommend.Cancelled our holiday 24 hours before we were due to go.Booked in October 2021 and we had a call to cancel less than a day before leaving us with no options. 8 guests including 2 children left with no family holiday and completely devastated.

Great proper pub with low beams, wood burners and fine ales on tap. Pool table for as a bonus. Great walk up here from Lynmouth via Watersmeet, highly recommended that, you'll appreciate the ale afterwards. Staff are friendly and prices reasonable. Highly recommended.

·

The most accommodating place you can stay. All the people that work there are lovely, nothing is too much trouble. The food is first class, from the cooked breakfast to the steak. The pub itself is immaculately clean, as soon as anyone finishes with their table it is cleaned down straight away. The rooms have everything that you need and are topped up if you run out. The beds are amazingly comfortable and again the rooms are really clean. All dogs welcome which gives it a friendly feel. A real home from home feel, absolutely loved it!

Home after a two night stay. We had stayed there before but pre covid. Lovely place to stay and it’s dog friendly so ideal for us. Well equipped room with a good shower and bath.Great choice of food. I am coeliac and the staff were able to recommend dishes - lots of choice. Recommend the vegan Thai curry.Nice snug room to relax in.Friendly and warm staffLovely atmosphere

Stopped in after a lovely walk. Very, very dog friendly. Lovely salmon sandwiches, very good service. What a gem of a place!Walked off the food with a little walk up to the coastline behind the church via their car park (they had thoughtfully sign posted it). Made the day that bit more special.Thank you for looking after us!
