The Old Station House Inn in North Devon

We’ve visited this place for many years and have never experienced anything below very good standards. However, the website insists that you wear a mask; none of the staff were wearing one. It also states that it’s child and pet friendly; only if the children are outside and the pets can’t be seen.I had pre-booked a table, but on entering we were greeted by a woman who was very rude from start to finish.At the end when she came to clear the table her comment about the toddler’s in our group was totally disrespectful.The menu is very basic now, no locally grown produce. The way we were treated is the main reason why I didn’t leave a tip. Although, the rest of the staff were polite and friendly.

The atmosphere was calm and welcoming, the staff were lovely, didn't rush you. The food was amazing and very tasty, and well presented.

A more unlikely Station Inn you will not find. Rolling Devon hills. How on earth could there be a railway round here? But the was! The Lynton to Barnstaple line that was closed in 1935!! There is a stretch open to enjoy in nearby Parracombe.

The venue is nice and staff lovely but the food is like something from the 1980’s. It was awful.

We stopped here for lunch on our way to illfracoombe, the service was second to none. We were greeted by each member of staff as they saw us, I felt genuinely welcomed by them all. The portions are more than ample and the prices are very reasonable. Service was very quick. They also have a brilliant play area outside for children with beautiful views

I have been here multiple times over the past twenty odd years, and the service has generally remained the same. At this time you need still to wear a mask and table service is compulsory.We ordered the roast. The meat was generously served and also the vegetarian option was good. The only complaint was the mashed swede, which no one likes, it's woody and very creamy.The staff were friendly and attentive, however only four stars for forgetting our chips.

Beautiful place and lovely staff. Gluten free options very impressive and dog friendly. We sat outside looking over the valley and watching the farm animals and the sun set . I had a fantastic gf pizza with garlic bread which is a real treat. Not many places cater tasty gf options but this place did ❤🥂

Set conveniently close to Wistlandpound reservoir, this lovely little family pub is set on the edge of Exmoor. Staff have always been super friendly and helpful on our visits. Food is good old traditional pub grub, not fancy pants, just good honest food, which is what you sometimes want, I know I do! Very well priced also. Outdoor seating is great and we'll spaced out, the interior is leaning towards traditional English pub.
