What à fantastic hidden gem this place was. We had a lovely cosy stay here, enjoying the cooked dinners, local drinks and hearty breakfasts. With the lively river and folding valley, we felt truly at peace here. The stay was only made more perfect by the hosts, offering advice for our holiday or just a friendly chat. A must visit!

A great place to stay. We felt very covid safe and the staff made us feel very welcome. Great local knowledge if you are visiting the area, we visited a couple of places on their recommendations. Food was good, as was service and loved the Huge fireplace in the bar with its logburner. Definitely a return visit in the future x

Really good food and quick friendly service even though there was only the owners working due to staffing issues. Best lasagne I ever had in a pub. Lovely pints. We will be back.

Great little pub. Great new staff and management are a breath of fresh air. Usual current unavailability of staff limits availability of tables tho. Keep up the good work, yr doing a fine job!!

Stayed two nights and was very disappointed. While the owners were nice, the room and en-suite were tired and dated. Mould around sink, shower tray taped together, cobwebs, carpet and bathroom flooring in need of replacement as did the furniture. Hallway leading to room has terrible smoke smell. Breakfast didn't get much better as it was obvious they were cutting corners to save money. The second day we had to get our own food in and then left. A real shame and certainly not worth £200 for 2 nights.

We called in to the Rockford Inn at about 5.30 for drinks and early supper. The landlord told us that unless we had booked we couldn't eat. That was fair enough but we couldn't sit at any of the reserved tables. All tables were reserved! We sat outside which was pleasant. The reserved tables stayed empty for nearly two hours! In that time we could have eaten and had a couple of drinks too. Outside seating is limited so lots of people either perched on a wall or just left! Strange way to run a business. Beautiful setting, nice cider.

We dropped in for an evening meal when camping locally. Really lovely old Exmoor pub, friendly landlady and chef and the food was lovely. Proper pub grub on the menu but all homemade by the chef and of fantastic quality. The choice suited both the adults and the children alike and we left well fed and watered and feeling like we'd had a warm Exmoor welcome.

We didn't actually stay at the Rockford Inn as we only stumbled across it whilst walking. The pub is in an idillic setting along a river. We booked in for tea and received a very warm welcome. The landlord and landlady were very friendly. The food was excellent, genuinely home cooked and plentiful. We enjoyed it so much we went back the following evening where we got talking to some guests who were staying there. They were very complimentary about the accommodation so we wouldn't hesitate in staying there if we are in the area again. Thanks for making the end of our holiday enjoyable.

Popped in on the off chance we could squeeze in for dinner - they were fully booked but let us sit by the river for a drink (which was extremely picturesque!). We decided to eat at home - but the chef came out to offer to cook for us outside especially. We didn’t take them up on it but it was very thoughtful. Extremely friendly staff - would recommend!

Great hosts and a great place for a food and/or drink stop during your walk, cycle or run. Stayed 3 nights, never used the car as it was such a good base. We were proper full after each evening meal, basic but very tasty menu. Breakfast was very good too, top poached eggs.
