We came for lunch, and returned for dinner!Fantastic, patient and very hard working staff. The food was lovely... a quirky take on a tapas menu which offers a lot of variety and flavour.Thank you Starter Bar, you guys are great:)

We had an early dinner here before our sunset safari. After trying few places where we couldn’t find bookings for dinner, we just walked in here and were greeted quite warmly. Like the modern and quite unique feel of the bar. Loved the cocktails. We ordered leek and potato soup and chickpea lentil curry to go along side onion rings. Food was excellent and so was the service. Clean restooms was a bonus in such a busy town.

It was an okay experience with an okay meal but a delicious cocktail. The servers look young and when asked a question about the cocktails, she shrugged and said she didn't know.I ordered a fisherman's platter which came with scampi, battered prawns and battered calamari. This was okay. For me, it felt like all I was eating was batter. The cocktail was delightful and delicious. On the menu it said that all cocktails were £9.95, however on my Bill, it came to about £5. Not bad and I was delightfully surprised. They also honoured the 10% discount, which was nice. All in all, it was average.

Mixed experience. On 31May21, six of us had such a pleasant lunch at The Starter Bar, that the next day two of us visited for evening meal. The mushroom and bacon carbonara was a great success but the other dishes and drinks were a disappointment. Two large glasses of white wine were ordered but two medium glasses at room temperature were served (the evening was warm; circa 20C). The jug of water was also only a little cooler than room temperature. Initially, the order for duck roll failed to reach the kitchen. Once alerted, the cook prepared virtually flavourless rolls and hoisin sauce ā˜¹ļø

Booked in for 2pm. We got there just before and didn’t get our order taken until 2.15. After asking where our food was at 2.45 it finally came at 2.55. My dish came out wrong and my sons ribs meal was inedible. Frozen foods heated up with no customer service skills.

My partner and I had a few starters and a jug of mojito, the food was was all out of a freezer and in the oven for 20mins (Probably all from Iceland’s) the service was poor and the mojito was made with lemonade instead of soda water. On the list of the worst meals I have ever had!

Waited for about an hour to receive the order. Even though in their photos they show a big bowl of King prawns, all I received were 5 shrimps in a sauce bowl (and they cost 8 pounds). Not to mention that both the shrimps and the breaded mushrooms were very oily. Would never recommend. Save your money and go somewhere else.

RUN FOREST RUN.I hate leaving negative reviews, however on this occasion I feel it necessary to not only let the public know, but to also hopefully give the owners a chance to sort things out. We waited almost an hour for simple Thai fish cake and mussels starters, both with fries. We also ordered a house Lager and House Cider. When they finally arrived we were Gob Smacked. The mussells looked (and tasted) like the Microwave in a bag supermarket ones. The Fish cakes were nearly all potato and were cooked from frozen and totally tasteless and the salad consisted of 1 cherry tomato and a tatty piece of Lime. The fries were overcooked and soaked in oil, virtually inedible. The drinks were served after 10 minutes wait and we were amazed to receive a can of Carling and a Can of Thatchers £3.50 each???At the point when the meals arrived we also ordered our deserts. Waffles with Strawberries and ice cream and Waffles with chocolate and Banana. We told the girls we were now in a massive hurry as we only booked two hours on the car park, to which we were asked if we wanted the desserts to take out (ice cream???). We rushed those down and sprinted back to the car park to find we were 10 mins over our 2 hours (no ticket phew)I firmly believe that the food comes from Lidl and is the cheapest they can possibly find. The staff all looked about 13 or 14 and had no training what so ever. Ours served the strawberry waffles next to all my old mussel shells and walked away empty handed (without my old shells).Fortunately Boris contributed, he should ask for his money back!I do hope they sort it, the idea is a good one.

The service this evening was really bad, along wait of nearly an hour is shocking to say the least . The grilled garlic chicken served on a warm salad - was awful... it wasn't grilled -No seasoning-looked and tasted like it was chicken from a cold meat pack for sandwiches as it wasn't even a chicken breast! Probably around 4 to 5 cloves of garlic coated all over it with no taste whatsoever. My sister had duck rolls which was only 5 of and overdone and to be fair overpriced at £7.95 for this when you can get clearly cheaper in a proper restaurant and much nicer.Awful food and unfairly priced for what it is . Would not go back there!!

Went yesterday. Was amazed that such simple dishes could be so poor. Mac chess, chilli con, BBQ chicken wings..... and to top it all was given Lidl craft beer. Really??Served by someone that was just not trained in customer service. The joke was that I said to the rest of the family that it looked fine and would be better than the chippy. :-(
