Whiddon Fryer in North Devon

12 12 21 stayed at mount sandford house,18 people,great service,delivery, tasty fish/chips,made part of our family weekend.highly recommend.

We hired the whiddon Valley fryer for our wedding at the end of August. The service and food was fantastic. The guests really enjoyed the food and it was well priced as well.I would thoroughly recommend them.

Freshly cooked almost to order. Was busy but the service was fast and freindly. The burger was great, chip portion was generous and the cod was very tasty.

Food was good but not very well organized in the shop! Forgot my daughter's drink with the kids meal.

Great food options and the staff are friendly and helpful. The portion sizes have considerably increased making it well worth the money so that's a great thing. The chips are cooked well and for a proper traditional fish and chips I recommend this place. Not only that they have a van which goes out around the small villages offering takeaway to the locals

Even though the cod and chips were very nice, the cod portions were very small. Even the lady serving questioned whether she had asked for mini! When questioned the fryer said it was done by weight. Definitely won't be paying over 5 quid for an over sized fish finger again!

First time back in over 8 years. We've been away. Fish is as it was then. Excellent. Far and away the best fish anywhere around here. I hope the van fish is as good 'cos we live near High Bickington and it's a long way to Whiddon Valley from there. I'll be trying the van soon.

Nice and clean with polite staff. Stopped off to get some food while working in the area. Prices higher than I'm used to but I'm from the Midlands so might be a regional price thing. Servings a little smaller but it was all very tasty so well worth it. I don't mind paying more if the food is right. Would use again.

Please read this and review below.After contract from the owners (Heather) with their concerns we had a complimentary meal a few weeks later. However guys the portion size is small compared to your competitors and batter was poor and lacking on the sausages. Please get back to your winning standard that we used to enjoy over many years previous 😘Very disappointing meal not to the usual quality we have had in the past. All food was overcooked especially the Scampi which was burnt and some pieces still raw on inside. Scallops were rock hard. Only exception was the spam fritters. Come on guys get back to how it was or loose customers.
