Ye olde globe in North Devon

A gem of an Inn. You couldn't hope for a lovelier old-world place - genuinely cosy and traditional, with friendly owners and staff. There's a wide choice of traditional pub food and a very nice selection of frequently changing specials. Well cooked, tasty food served in good time. Loved the beers and ciders on offer too.Outside sitting area extends into a beer garden overlooking the countryside.We highly recommend the Olde Globe Inn for a great evening out in a cosy atmospheric setting.

Oh my word what a superb pub. We arrived from Gower on Saturday and had a superb Sunday lunch Jenny who was in charge of the bar fitted us in, despite being very busy. Both the beef and turkey were superb, as was the home made pudding.we then went on Thursday evening which was equally fantastic, 5*. We were going back Friday evening....but we must have one more evening in the old globe Inn!!

Great traditional old style pub, staff were friendly and the food was amazing. Will definitely visit again.

A lovely 'proper' pub full of character. Big portions of pub classics, perfect for two very hungry walkers. Friendly staff and nice beer garden too. 2 drinks and 2 mains, in and out in around an hour to finish our walk. No waiting or poor service like other reviews have mentioned. Would visit again.

Quaint pub, nice staff, very good food good portions

Visited 3 times while on holiday, food was always very good with large portions. Weather was very good so sat outside in the garden. Dog friendly, provided water bowl and treats for our dog. Only serves a limited number of people for food, so you will almost certainly need to book

Just a short walk up from where we were staying.Very charming and characterful both outside and inside.Staff were really nice and friendly. It was very busy, as expected at this time of year. Our orders came through on time and everyone enjoyed their dishes. A limited veggie menu but my lasagne was good. It did the job. No complaints from the group of friends about their dishes either.Both the sorbet and ice cream I had were very, very good.

Though the mussels were reportedly "lovely", the rest of the food ordered - notably the burgers were standard. The chicken in particular was dry and one burger came with two bottom buns.The service was poor. We booked a table in advance and were waiting close to an hour after being seated at a temporary seating area. Additionally, no drinks were offered to us during this period.I can understand if the restaurant is short staffed or overwhelmed at the moment, but bookings should not be accepted in this case.

We had rung and booked a table only to be told upon arrival that they "might be able to squeeze us in"... we agreed to sit in the garden and have a drink pending a table becoming available.... sadly, nearly an hour later no-one had come to take a drinks order, even after being told by 3 separate waiting staff "yes, one minute...."Once we did get sat down, the service was good, the food was ok... but nothing special, in fact my burger came without a top, but 2 bottoms instead!.. certainly not worth the wait in my opinion.I understand that places are busy right now, and it did appear that the pub was short staffed.... but it doesn't take long to get a few drinks and at least appear to be a little apologetic.

Fantastic Sunday lunch; the Vegetable Wellington was superb as were the accompanying dishes, all prepared from scratch and freshly cooked; what a pleasure. The pub itself is cozy, well maintained, and has a sense of history being so old. The service was efficient and friendly and had a friendly vibe. There is a good sized beer garden and a carpark to the rear for patrons. Just up the road there is the village shop car park which is much larger and also free.
