Best Chinese takeaway in Gill/Shaftesbury. Sometimes get the order wrong but the food is good quality.

Have to say it's dropped it's high standards since the COVID-19 Issue which is a real shame, and a 50p service charge when we collect (which was not on the menu). What a shame as it was good prior to the pandemic.

After moving here from the south east it's nice to find a good quality Chinese takeaway that opens on a Tuesday.

Awful.Used to be good. It's toilet now.Pancake roll leaked enough grease to lubricate a combine harvester.Special fried rice was massively over cooked, had no meat just a few peas.Ribs tasted like bin juice.Sweet and sour chicken balls weren't cooked properly .Disgusting.There isn't a good Chinese in Gillingham

Love a good Chinese. Ordered from here the first time and it was great. Huge portions, nice Chow Mien, Satay Skewers were lovely. Great quick service and they even put a free bag of prawn crackers in the bag

Had some food here a couple of weekends ago and I had 4 bites and that was it. I had special friend rice (which has fine) had a beef chow mein which was vile, it was as dry as a bone, next to no sauce on it and the sweet and sour chicken balls, however they're fried the batter tastes horrible.

Firstly I’m a massive Chinese fan, best take away there is if it’s done right, I’ve just recently moved from templecombe to Gillingham so my go to Chinese was always stalbridge, which by the way is the best in the north Dorset area. So with living in Gillingham now I had my first Chinese at Chans. Good price slightly cheaper than what I’m usually used too, it got delivered in good time, nice and hot on arrival. Perfect start. As I was dishing it up I noticed it all looked very bland, sweet and sour chicken looked like something out of a Tesco value take away pot, the sauce tasted like it was too. Chow-Mein was very boring and lacked some serious flavour, was probably the worst effort at making a chow mein dish I’ve ever seen at a Chinese, maybe the cook lacked motivation and put his sadness of lockdown into his cooking, pork spare ribs was just fat on a bone. The Positive dish was the roast duck in the plum sauce. Thought the duck was cooked very well and about the only enjoyable dish I had. The only reason it didn’t get a one star.Overall I’m massively disappointed maybe it was just bad night or the people giving this place good reviews have no idea actually how a Chinese should be cooked. I won’t be trying again unfortunately. I’m not going to say avoid as everyone’s got different opinions, try cfor yourself and potentially waste your money.

The only good thing about tonight’s food was that it arrived earlier than expected.Overall the worst Chinese food that we have ever had, will not be ordering from here again

Crispy shredded beef was a congealed rubbery mess. Everything lacked flavour. £33 waste of money. New years day order so perhaps not the usual chef. Very dissapointed and none of us could eat more than a quarter of it.
