Lovely friendly hosts and staff, great rooms and perfect location for a nearby wedding. Really enjoyed our stay and wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Gorgeous place!

The service is excellent and the staffs is friendly and the place was beautiful, the food is good.

Unfortunately when we visited food wasn't available, however a lunch time menu was being launched the following day. Landlord and lady are lovely and friendly. Well worth visiting on your way through the area as Milton Abbas is like a picture postcard

Nice pub in an unusual village setting. Weren't able to do food when we went due to chef shortage but the beer was nice enough and we would come back when they are doing food

·

Nice place, wasn't serving food the evening we walked there despite online information saying they should be so this was disappointing.

·

Iconic village and pub. Back in the day it was a Devenish house and still has the hand pulls. Lots of history here but you are paying for it.

·

Lovely Sunday lunch. Great staff and good atmosphere.

What a lovely cosy local village pub! Bags of character & very friendly landlord! Yummy food too & our furry friends were welcome! 😍

We ate here last year in the summer and had a fantastic meal. We returned this time for our son's birthday and to say we were disappointed was an understatement! When we first arrived we took our table and realised that the heating wasn't on so sat there with our coats on it was that cold! The staff was very attentive though which cheered us up and so we ordered our food for a Sunday lunch, the starters were limited (3 of them) but were not too bad. After we finished the starters I spoke to the waiting staff and asked that the main course did not come out too quickly, the young girl nipped off into the kitchen and returned and said that they could not hold on because they had started cooking it (Roast dinner?? Really.) The main course arrived I had beef, I asked for English mustard and the waitress returned to say they only had dijon!! When we started the main course we found the gravy watery, the spuds tasted like cardboard and the meat dry chewy, and only 3 tiny slices. all of us left at least half the plate of food and looking around the restaurant after others finished we noticed everyone else by us left the same amount. All in all, it's a great pub, very clean in a perfect location with very attentive staff and a nice atmosphere, but the food was absolutely awful and for christ's sake switch the heating on in December! It's a real shame really, I am not sure if they have another chef working there from the last time we visited, but they really do need to sort their food out, !!

We are staying locally and the Hambro Arms was recommended by our hosts. We were not disappointed, the food was excellent, fresh and very tasty. So good we had dessert which didn't disappoint either. Apparently there's a new chef We'll be coming back before we leave.
