Just had a great lunch. Nice food, good service, reasonable prices and they have renovated the place beautifully. Will be visiting again!😍

Dropped in for a spontaneous last minute Sunday lunch and had delicious herbed sausages with mash & onion gravy, followed by a superb Christmas pudding that had added theatre by being flambé at the table!Restful ambient jazz created a very relaxed atmosphere and Peter & Karlene are excellent hosts.Well worth visiting.

A hidden gem. I can’t praise it enough. I’ve been coming to the plough with my family (who are locals) since I was a kid, and I’ve never enjoyed my experience there as much as I did this evening. I don’t often write reviews, but the renovation has been done so beautifully that I can’t help but praise it. Wonderful atmosphere, lovely drinks and food. Don’t hesitate to book.

Very tastefully refurbished keeping all the old hallmarks and making the additions blend well into the surroundings with such an improvement to the conservatory. We'll looked after beers if a tad above local pricing. Mush visit again soon

We visited The Plough on Sunday for a spot of lunch and very nice it was too! We were welcomed upon arrival and shown to a table. The food was great and the service perfect. The refurbishment has been a vast improvement and Peter & Karlene should be proud of what they have done. They have had teething issues with kitchen staff which will impact on any establishment but once that is sorted I'm sure it will be a success. A chef with a couple of signature dishes would just make it perfect!

This Pub was closed for some time having the place revamped. And I love what has been done to it, even down to little things like the tiles in the Gents, they are awesome. The owner informed me they were without a chef at the time I visited, but were hoping to recruit very soon. I shall definitely be back again, next time for a meal. Well worth a visit indeed, and as my good friend said 'use it or lose it'! Having that lovely a Pub on your doorstep, why wouldn't you use it!!

Really disappointing experience. I took my two year old son there for a quick lunch on a Wednesday during term time - there were, at most, 4 tables being used in the entire place but my starter took 35 minutes to arrive. It was seafood chowder so I would have imagined if would have been ready for a quick service. The chowder was completely tasteless and even the chunks of fish had virtually no flavour. I shouldn't have eaten it but I was so hungry. My son's fish and chips was fine to be fair. I then waited another 30 minutes for my main meal (burger and chips) and it didn't arrive. I asked the waiter to ask the chef when it was coming but got not reply. After another 15 minutes, I decided to pay my bill and leave. I politely explained my frustration to the host and he said 'really it would be better if you booked in advance as there was only one chef on today'. I found this particularly rude; the sign outside does not say anything about reservations. It simply says 'now open for lunch and dinner'. In any case, I did call before leaving home to see if there was availability - nobody picked up. There were 4 or 5 tables in use by the time I left - I don't see how that could cause so many issues. If things were really that hard in terms of no staff, it would have been nice if someone would have warned us about the delay and perhaps offered a complimentary drink or something. Most staff I could see were doing very little - maybe one of them could step up and help in the kitchen in these situations? We were ignored most of the time we were there and the waiters looked worried about dealing with customers in case there were more complaints. I did hear another customer complaining much more than me shortly before I left and I suspect this probably happens quite a lot.It is such a shame because it looks like a really lovely pub. Perhaps they will make changes - if they do, I'm happy to try it again but I wouldn't recommend going there for now.

We had a great experience eating here for my husband's birthday. Peter was really accomodating and very kind, made it a very special afternoon. Good food and nice atmosphere. Recommended!
