Having booked for a meal at The Royal Oak we can not praise our visits enough, we are a family of 5 with Ted our dog, the menu was brilliant and the food even better, each of us had different food, the Steak and Ale pie, Gammon, Pizza and Lasagne were excellent, the Chips divine, the food presentation and quality of produce was top standard everything was served hot and simply delicious, portion size incredible and excellent value for money. We were staying in a B&B close by but found The Royal Oak served a menu suited us better, in fact we ate at the Royal Oak for the next 4 nights, each night having different choices but each meal being as good as the night before. The atmosphere in the bar too was brilliant and the hospitality of the bar staff and owners brilliant too, its a wonderful pub, locals were wonderful too, what a find.... thank you to all for making our holiday, we we can't wait to come back...

Went to the Royal Oak for the second time today after a great Sunday Carvery experience on Mother’s Day it’s about 30min drive from home but it worth it, great family run pub with proper pub grub and good size portions. All staff are Friendly and welcoming for every one including the kids, great garden for the kids to play on climbing frame. All round great service

Never judge a book by its cover. This pub may not look much from the outside but once you enter you are greeted my Victoria( a credit to the industry) who is so welcoming, then comes the food, wow its like fine dining. I had the belly pork and I'm going to say it I thought it had been cooked by Gordon Ramsey. Well worthy of a Michelin Star or 2 its that good. Do yourself a favour drop in sometime you will not regret it.

Visited the Royal Oak during a family break to celebrate my daughters 30th birthday. There were 27 of us including 9 children (8 under 3 years old) and the staff couldn’t have been more accommodating. We booked out the room at the back which was well equipped to entertain the children from building blocks to a play kitchen and art. There was also a lovely courtyard and play park. The food was fantastic. The Sunday lunch lived up to it name with lots of choice and quality of food with plenty of meat. Very tasty. The staff were so friendly especially our server Lauren who did a great job putting up with us all. Would definitely recommend and will be returning when we’re next in the area. Keep the good work up guys and thanks for a great afternoon!!

Very welcoming staff. Tables and chairs bit old and rickety. Lunch done and out.no comfort to sit and drink coffee. Food. Great meat, and gravy. Sauces from catering bottles ( saw refill) yorkshire puds, well risen, bit soft. Veg not bad, green beans frozen. Roast pots better than most pubs. Very good value.

Doesn't look much from the outside which is probably as its right on a main road, but I would definitely recommend stopping here and giving The Royal Oak a visit.Food is great and reasonably priced, Landlady is friendly and attentive. I have stopped here twice for lunch and will certainly go back hopefully for an evening meal. What more could you want!

The staff were really helpful and accommodating to me, my Mum, and my Mum's two sisters as we visited the local pub with our dog Poppy whilst we're staying in a house in the local village. The food was great too!!!

Had a lovely roast dinner here on Sunday with my family. The carvery was excellent with 3 different meat choices. They didn't skimp on the meat like some places do, giving you a good sizable helping. The parsnips were spot on, sweet and crisp 👌.Atmosphere was good too. The pub was busy enough to create a buz without the need for background music but not over crowded. We booked in advance so guaranteed ourselves a meal. I would suggest that if you intend to go, you should too as I saw some walk ins get turned away due to lack of space.Highly recommend! Thanks for a lovely meal!

Always a warm greeting from the staff on arrival. Always plenty of people eating L, which is a good sign. I really must make time to enjoy a meal there soon. Even when busy, it does not feel over crowded due to the extensive outdoor seating and 3 indoor reception areas. A proper local pub in every sense.
