The Saxon Inn in North Dorset

Stopped in on a nice hot summers lunch time on the off chance after seeing the sign on the bend. Clean friendly, great beer garden and amazing fresh salad. Will pop in again!

Went for the 1st time today, will definitely be going back. Food and service was great. Highly recommend

Just had a lovely pub lunch with a friend here. We were both running late but the pub was very accommodating and friendly! Food was fantastic and there was a lovely atmosphere... we spent hours here without realising! Will most certainly coming back when we can. Thank you!

Very friendly staff. Food was very good and plenty of it.Drinks were a little expensive, £2 for a lemonade and lime and 5.60 for a lager but then I have not been to an English pub for some time so that could be the norm

Very warm and welcoming with good range of well kept ales.

My criticism of the Saxon is solely of the attitude of the landlord. We visited the pub yesterday with our family for a meal. On entering the bar to order drinks and food the landlord adopted a negative attitude and said he was concentrating on a group who had entered before us and we would have to wait as he only had one chef. We expected no less and we then enquired whether dogs were allied in the bar he said he didn’t care less what we did with the dog!We moved on to another local pub where in chatting to a local who said they had a similar experience.We live local and have eaten many times at this pub in the past but the landlord will need to modify his demeanour if we are to customise the pub again.

A classic pub, through and through, good food, great pints and friendly staff and a fire to boot!, what more could you want

Really enjoyed our stay myself and my daughter. Food was delicious and we were treated so well by Sophie. We had a twin room at the back overlooking beer garden. An excellent experience. We will go back again

Outstanding food. Every mouthful was heaven. I had a bacon steak and I do recommend it.We went for late lunch and the pub had plenty of available tables. The table and bar service were also very good and kind.We ended in the back garden for a smoke. Five stars all around. We will be back very soon.
