The Ship Inn Restaurant in North Dorset

I have just had lunch with my brother at The Ship Inn, he is local, I live in the East Midlands. The pub/restaurant is marvellous. The food is of such a high standard it is up there with the best restaurants in the world. The staff are friendly and helpful, it really is a splendid venue for a meal.

The kind of pub where you can walk in the first time and feel like a regular. Staff are friendly, accommodating and attentive, owner is the same. Don't sleep on the food either as that is awesome as well. Overall 10/10 even enjoyed it after spilling an entire pint in myself.

We were greeted with a friendly lady. And we were shown to our table, a nice quiet corner.The food was absolutely lovely.The staff are friendly and nice, and looked liked they enjoy their job.It was service with a smile.We really enjoyed our evening, and will definitely go back soon.We managed to get a parking space opposite.We would highly recommend this place to eat and drink.

Gavin was a fantastic host. The pub is very atmospheric, the room was big and comfortable, the food delicious, and the staff really friendly. They were very attentive, especially with our baby. We will definitely come back, and explore more this corner of Dorset. It is a short drive from Gillingham. We arrived by train, and had no issue booking a taxi to take us there.

What a great place to stay. My wife and I felt at home, friendly and informal atmosphere. Food great and room nice, bed very comfortable. We would stay again.

Nick sorted our work Christmas meal and he made sure there were gluten free and vegetarian options for us, and kept us up to date during a busy period! The chef was amazing - the gluten free food was incredible! Would definitely recommend and can't wait to visit again.

visiting for the 1st time in over 20 years and it's still a great pub and place to stay. the staff are first class, the food is lovely and theres a great selection of drinks.

We found this lovely place by accident as we made a mistake on our journey to Devon for a two week break.The staff were so pleasant and made our visit a really happy experience after our mistake.The lovely guy who took care of us was wonderful.The food was delicious and so reasonably priced and the place was really clean and a joy to visit.I can highly recommend this Inn it's a very pleasant place with very kind welcoming staff.

First time popping in with a friend, had a lovely time! Bartender was very friendly and welcoming, atmosphere was cosy and inviting and even though I didn't eat the menu looked amazing. Will definitely be back to try it
