Great cream tea - very reasonably priced. Nice courtyard. Friendly staff.

So friendly and welcoming. My wife told them it was her birthday and they came out with a piece of cake with a lit candle and sang Happy Birthday. What more could you ask for. It made her day.

Visited with our toddler and baby. Service was extremely friendly and they looked after us very well. Great breakfast, HUGE slices of cake (we may have over indulged, but when the food is this good, who cares?!)

Tucked away in Swan Yard. Warm and cosy. Seating outside too. Jolly decoration. Food excellent. Coffee delicious. Prices reasonable. Staff friendly and efficient. Care taken over food preferences and allergies. Accessible and with a disabled toilet. Parking in main town car park a short walk away.

Love the ugly duckling, always so welcoming and friendly, helpful and ready to chat. Food is yummy and easy for stopping with the kids. They're always happy to adjust menu if needed and they have gluten free cakes and cream tea 👍 it's a great comfy little place for a quick coffee or ice cream stop or for spot of easy lunch.

Handy for me as between carpark and the shops. Food is nice. The people running the place are friendly and approachable. There are indoor and outdoor seating. The "comfort stop" is roomy, I'm pleased to say, should it be required. All in all I find the Ugly Duckling a welcoming place for a cuppa or something more substantial.

Fantastic eco-friendly Cafe where all the plates, cups and cutlery are recyclable.Good selection of savoury and sweet options including a superb Avocado and Courgette Cake.The only thing that gave it four stars rather than five is the coffee, which isn't the greatest.

What a gem!! Me and my friend had just climbed Gold hill on our bikes to be rewarded with delicious chocolate and orange cake and delicious coffee. The staff were so lovely, very friendly and chatty ☺️. I will definitely be stopped here again on my next ride to Shaftesbury,! ☺️
