The White Horse, Stourpaine in North Dorset

Popped in here on the way back from Shaftesbury on a cycle ride. Friendly welcome as I sat and enjoyed a pint and charge up the e-bike battery. Good atmosphere with regulars and barmaid discussing Glastonbury and live bands.

Walked in and honestly that's the most friendly greeting I have ever had, staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. Food was great too with lots of choice and lots of gluten free options, then as if it could get better they had a gluten free vegan chocolate, coconut tart and it was soooooo yummy. I will definitely be back.

What a delightful team of helpful friendly amusing and efficient staff who were very welcoming to our walking group. The beer was well kept and presented and the food was good too. An all round first class experience.💓

Great food, the sharing platter was delightfully presented. A gin menu with many different gins to choose. Service was friendly and professional, excellent. Nothing was too much trouble.

Great pub, with brilliant food and service. It was mother's day too, so, very busy. The reason for 4 stars was because we were sat by the door which was left open, and I got quite cold.

Excellent over 60s meal deal. We walked to Shillingstone (the railway museum is there but check opening times) along the old railway line called the Trailway and back again before we had lunch.

Exceptionally friendly, open-minded staff with pool table available on request. Didn’t get round to playing it as the bar chatter was always so welcoming! Keep up the good work and ambiance x

Staying at a cottage within walking distance we came across this wonderful village pub where the staff cannot be friendlier or more helpful. Our dog was spoilt and looked after with a blanket being brought out to sit on and dog treats always offered.Great selection of beers and wines coupled with excellent food makes this a must visit pub

Super dog friendly pub. Lovely staff. Gave our dogs treats, water and a bed. Amazing !! Had some homemade scotch eggs with chutney.. wow.. what a treat ! Took home some fresh farm eggs and memories of a totally lovely evening.

Great service for what was an impromptu lunch after a walk 20” from close of lunch service. Staff were jovial and chatty. The food was wholesome and hearty, my steak and kidney pie was delicious with a generous portion of veg. This was repeated with the apple crumble and custard. A lovely atmosphere with plenty of nooks and crannies.
