Poor service on both nightsPoor foodFreezing cold dining area breakfast & evening time.Dust over lamp shades, especially table 7.Large milk jug at breakfast time grubby/stained.Several dirty mugs placed for use.Toilet cleaned whilst we were having breakfast by a female member of staff (not a cleaner) wearing only rubber gloves, no other protective clothing, ie apron. Each time someone needed to use the toilet she would come out and stand by the fresh bread/cake area and wait there with her rubber gloves on before recommencing the cleaning. NOT AT ALL hygienic, especially with Covid still around.Poorly trained staff, but friendly.Clueless young assistant manager on the Saturday night.Would not recommend the Brewers Fayre restaurant or adjoining Premier Inn, worst we have ever been to.Bedrooms in need of a good cleaning, especially 118 - cobwebs over bed; grubby toilet - see attached 'photos.Stay was 1st & 2nd April 2022.Separate review placed for the Premier Inn.

Good place to stay. Lovely interiors and very helpful staff. The food menu could be better but value for money and a great location.

Food not bad for the price. Staff friendly

Main entrance hsd people smoking both on entrering and leaving the building. The building itself is very impressive however once inside the vibe was very tired decor and run down something of an 80s look. The menu was basically fast food. I ordered a curry and it arrived looking like a bowl of soup. The chicken in it tasted very synthetic I wouls say something of a 40% chicken content and 60% rubber or similar. Staff were a bit serious but ok. Would I return again it's a definite no from me very disappointed

We visited twice, the first time early Saturday afternoon just for a drink, it was very busy.We visited again the following Friday afternoon and again it was very busy.Staff were friendly although busy, food arrived in a reasonable amount of time and was delicious and with good portions value for money.Would visit again as there are vegan options.

Booked for Xmas lunch, 2 adults and 2 children. Was the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. Poor welcome, worse service, food presentation/ table presentation and quality of food dire. We left half way through. No apology or recompense, will never visit again. Had to give 1 star as no option for none. Merry Christmas.

Booked a table here when we were staying at the chedder Lodge Spa which is less than two miles away. Found the staff very friendly and attentive even when a couple of the party was running late.Food came out hot and to a good standard loaded chicken wings were fab. Will definitely be eating here again when in the area .

We booked a table at 6 30pm 10 days ago, ordered mains, waitress came back saying one of our mains had run out so we needed to choose a different one.Ordered drinks, 2 of the soft drinks looked the same, and she offered them both as the same drink. Pointed out that they should be different, she had no idea which was which, we were left to taste them and work it out.Mains arrived and one dish had 2 items missing, by the time they arrived we'd nearly finished our meals.Eventually they came with a menu for desserts having asked 3 times, 30 minutes later I had to look for a member of staff to take our order, ordered desserts, and straight away told one dish was off the menu, so two of us had to choose something else.Main dinner plàtes left on the table, 20 minutes later the waitress came back saying another dessert was also off the menu, 2 further choices later my friend gave up on a dessert choice. All around was chaos, food being sent back on other tables, the table next to us the rest of the family had eaten their food before the last plate arrived. So many options where being told where not available, but not as menus were given but as orders being placed meaning last minute having to choose something else. When our bill arrived so much was wrong, 2 course Christmas menu being charged, plus a desert when it wasn't our fault that the menu wasn't available, they also said we couldn't split the bill but each item had to be paid separately not in an equal split. The manager was nowhere to be seen, she had left it all to the young waitress to deal with. Shocking behaviour for a manager. We were booked for breakfast too having spent the night in the Premier Inn,Staff wearing Christmas jumpers meant we didn't know who was a guest or staff, complete lack of plates, cutlery, bread for toasting, continental breakfast items not being replaced for 20 to 30 minutes one girl of around 16 was asked 6 times for a plate for toast and she just kept saying plates are over there. Except they weren't any other there that's why we were asking. None of the guest knew who to ask. Tables were waiting for so many things it was a comedy of errors both Saturday and Sunday. We were asked if we wanted a coffee as soon as we sat down, 1 and a half hours later they came and asked if we'd like a coffee. Why not have a machine like every other Premier Inn I've stayed in around the country.Only good thing about the breakfast was at least the hot food was hot as made to order, but not buffet style or asked if we might like anything else.I wouldn't eat here again.Would give Zero stars if it would let me.

As we arrived our first impressions of the place seemed very good on the outside, but wasn't the case on the inside. After waiting what felt like years we got seated in what seemed like a run down conservatory that needed a dang good clean or perhaps KNOCKING DOWN!?We were told by one of the staff "You know what to do" as we replied "No, not really?" as this was our first time eating here. When sat down we noticed immediately that the tables were sticky, the walls were sticky, the floor was even sticker. I BEG to wonder what wasn't STICKY in there.Once the food arrived, it was very dry (surprised that even the food wasn't STICKY too!?), whilst eating the food we uncovered something very SHOCKING. A green chip (deadly) as can be seen in the photo provided. We asked for some Peppercorn & Diane sauce to go with our steaks and the waitress said that it'll be no more than a 'few minutes'... HALF AN HOUR LATER! still no sign of my Peppercorn & Diane sauce. Multiple times the waitresses walked past us and ignored us and certainly never asked how the food was which I found very rude and poor customer service. We finished and left before the Peppercorn & Diane sauce could ever get out.As we were leaving we decided to make a friendly complaint before it managed to get to the online reviews (and well you can tell how that went due to me making this review right now), the manager thought it was all directed at her which it was not, got very defensive, which also shows me that she cannot take criticism. Started to argue back and we were very shocked by this. The food and customer service was very subpar, it was not up to other Brewers Fayre's high quality and standards that I'm used to. My family and I were even told that we were BANNED for LIFE, just by making some constructive feedback. This has left us very distraught and emotions are now running high.Wanted to rush out as soon as possible however, the beeswax coated floor would not allow us to, almost like I was chained up to the bar with how STICKY It was. They probably are beekeepers in the back ready for the next coat (which is very over done) surprised with how much beeswax they can even store back there!Moral of the story is that it felt like a dystopian prison with prison food and with a sticky coating not even prisoners from Alcatraz can escape from that mess. Prisons should implement this well designed escape prevention technique.Shame, looks nice on the outside. shan't be back !!!

Their two mains for £8.99 is a great deal. Food is wholesome, not fancy. The staff were excellent today, so friendly. Plenty of parking, but most means steps to walk up. Few disabled spaces by the main entrance. Careful when approaching the turn off as it is a speedy road and you can easily miss it!
