Quality carvery, big selection of gins, love the display, recently had thatchers fusion installed, can’t wait to try them all! Amazing and friendly staff! Definitely would recommend the star to all my friends and family! Favourite staff are Olivia, Charlie & Jodie, always make me smile!

Staff are always amazing, friendly, helpful and welcoming. The children love the carvery as do the adults. Generous helpings of meat. Reasonable prices for great pub food.

went in here with a football crowd. we sat around in the bar side so the level of noise wouldn't matter I ordered the fish and chips which great .couple of the lads ordered food as well .it came quick .the bar staff were very helpfull nice experience all round..just went here for the carvery with my missus and son fabulous, I had the large with 2 meats ,turkey and beef with roast potatoes, pigs in blankets ,yorkshire pud mash and gravey well worth the visit go try it 😀

Very nice carvery, choice of portion sizes, reasonable price. Soft drinks expensive, £6-50 for two lemonade and lime! Otherwise very clean toilet facilities. Pleasant dining area and helpful staff.

Fantastic Christmas Day dinner/carvery. Busy but not on top of each other. Staff efficient and friendly. Manager/owner on-site and also very welcoming. Food was gorgeous. Would not hesitate to go back. Thanks to all for giving up your own Christmas day so that we could enjoy ours.

Have had the Carvery twice and also meals from the main menu. Rare steak cooked to perfection and had to compliment the chef. Lovely atmospheric place was lots of nooks and crannies to sit in. Pleasant, helpful staff. Love it here!

Had our family christmas get-together here last night. With over 20 of us it can get a bit manic but we were given a lovely side room decked out with crackers and lights so really got us in the festive mood. Staff were brilliant and looked after us really well, food was lovely, most of us had carvery so a lovely early christmas dinner and those who ordered off the menu were served promptly too. We've had family parties here before and they never disappoint. Hopefully they will have us back again soon. x

This place is normally amazing great food great staff. Unfortunately today this wasn’t the case. We came for a Carvery and the beef was gristly the turkey my son had was dry and the roast potatoes were undercooked, lots of the veg tasted over cooked was soft and a bit mushy. Was very frustrating because usually the food is spot on. To top it off our table was left with all of our dirty dishes on when our deserts came out 15 - 20 minutes after they were ordered. Even the waiters were shocked. It wasn’t busy only another possibly 7 or 8 tables were in use at the time and they weren’t short staffed either must’ve been 5 or 6 people behind the bar chatting it really did ruin the experience. 3 stars purely because it’s normally amazing. Not happy at all after this experience sorry to say.

We visited this pub, treating ourselves to a meal out because we haven't been out for such a long time to a pub, staff were very friendly and welcoming and polite, I fancied there fish and chips it looked really good in the menu, but I was very disappointed to learn that there was NO Fish dream shattered. So had to make do with a Steak and gravey 🥧 pie. Wasn't too bad but I really fancied Fish. Maybe next visit I might be lucky?

Great value for money, went twice in a week and always had space and had a nice welcome from the staff. Only downside is lack of children's play area which other nearby pubs have.
