What a lovely place. Came to weston and walked in here as it looked nice. The food is lovely, the atmosphere is amazing. A great spot to have a drink and watch the sun go down. The staff is very efficient and friendly.

Have been a customer of the old thatch cottage for many many years and have certainly seen a lot of changes. We do eat there on quite a regular basis, the quality of the food and service are always second to none. In these very trying times (covid) the restaurant has always had the customers safety in mind and have certainly spent a fortune on making things safe for there customers , the outside dining experience is fantastic with all the wind breaks and gas fire pits just off the scale. Please take my advice and try the experience 🙂 might see you there next week 😉

The food was absolutely beautiful when it came out but my joy soon turned to disappointment having watched the chef in the kitchen who I feel needs to go on a food hygiene refresher course. I watched as he felt a chop he had cooked with the back if his hand then literally threw it back on the grill to reheat. He then proceeded to pick up some chips with his bare hands rather than tongs and arranged them in the metal pot on the plate before being taken out to a customer.Thank you for your response, whilst I accept your explanation I do not personally agree with directly handling food in the manner I saw. I think that using tongs would be more appropriate and I can honestly say I did not see the chef wash his hands but that is not to say he didn't.

We’ve passed The Old Thatched Cottage a few times when visiting Weston and we always wanted to try it, today was that day! The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, always checking everything is ok and always happy to do anything you need! My other half is coeliac and they were able to confirm that they could do a Gluten Free roast with gravy, just no yorkshires - excellent! There were some issues with the kitchen today, but this couldn’t be helped and the staff were on top of it, keeping us updated etc. You’ll notice from the picture, my roasties were missing, but I mentioned it and they came straight out with some roasties for me!My only thing I’d say, that would have pushed another star for me was that there was no info on the menu as to what veg you get - this was cauliflower cheese and peas. Not being a fan of cauliflower cheese, I’d have preferred a third veg that I could’ve had; but it wasn’t a deal breaker as I was still fairly stuffed anyway in the end!Decent prices, clean, well styled venue and excellent views of the seafront - plus the tables outside have heaters built into them for when the temperature dips!Defo recommend this place, plus dogs are allowed outside, so a huge bonus!Thank you for having us!

We’ve been several times before and today’s visit was really disappointing. It wasn’t very busy (40% of tables taken) and not everyone was eating but service was really slow. The annoying thing was that tables who arrived after us were served drinks and orders taken before us. It doesn’t seem that there is a system in place. We did get drinks after 20 minutes or so and the starters took a further 20 minutes. We ordered wine for dinner, but they brought the wrong ones and we told them not to bother changing them due to the length of time it takes. Main meals were from the Sunday lunch menu and when they eventually arrived food was lukewarm and the accompaniments were stone cold. We didn’t complain having been there already 1hr 15min. Presentation of food was good and it tasted lovely but we asked for the bill straight after mains and had desert and coffee elsewhere. I brought the payment inside and chased someone own rather than lose the will to live waiting for staff to come back.We would expect service to be more organised and for food to be at least warm for £30 a head.

Fantastic tried to book on line but left it to late but went to them instead the waitress said see if the chef could do extra people she came back and got us a lovely seat .really pleased with the food and service well done thank you.

Attentive and friendly staff. Tarjak (apologies if misspelt) was particularly helpful and professional.Food was good and hot and well balanced.Ordered lobster thermador which came with salad and chips. Didn't need the chips but the salad would have done with a tad more dressing. The fire pit tables are fun outside and you get a view (on Friday night) of Weston beach front happenings! Beware there's a Weatjerspoons on the other corner!!Good night and leisurely eating and would recommend. We sat outside for a bit and then insideCovid rules were good

First time in for the Father's day treat with the Sundays roast - we were really pleased with the quality of the food and the portion sizes. Very friendly staff, amazing atmosphere outside by the fire pit. Definitely recommend and will be coming back.

Very nice building. The outside space is nice, with the fire pits to sit around. The staff are quite a young troop, and are friendly enough. The kitchen was particularly slow when we went there. The starters took about 40 mins to come out. Then an additional 25 mins for our mains. We also realised they were taking care of the couples better than the larger groups. We were a party of 6. And we saw at least two couples seated after us, and ate before us! The food was of a reasonable standard. I would give this place another go, as I think it has potential of being a really nice place to eat.
