Fish & Chip Shop D Phippen in North Somerset

Service is always painfully slow. We’ve eaten here a few times as it’s such a great location, but we can’t bear it anymore and won’t be returning. I just don’t understand why they don’t just have food ready and serve customers when they arrive, like other fish and chip shops. I was the first customer of the day to order on a Saturday and still had to wait outside for 25 minutes for them to prepare my order. It is absolutely ridiculous.

Super fresh food and high quality ingredients. I had chicken pie....artisan pie full of flavour and totally unexpected. Bit of a wait for food ti be cooked but well worth the wait!!! Parked up at the end of the road in car park over looking the sea!!! Perfect evening highly recommended!!

Enjoyed a large cod and a regular cod and chips here on Saturday.The service was quick and courteous. Fish was of excellent quality and well cooked. Batter was not too thick. Chips were chunky and quantity was a lot.Seating is available outside with picnic tables etc. Toilet facility is available at the adjacent Cosy Hatch if required.Would come back here in the future.

Ordered the small sharing box consisting of cod bites, scampi, chicken nuggets, breaded mushrooms, onion rings and of course chips and it was fabulous. Icing on the cake, we ordered it whilst our on our walk and they delivered to our Campervan in Home Farm campsite in the evening. Couldn’t ask for anything more!

Possibly some of the best fish and chips I've had. Lovely light batter and great chips. Washed down with a bottle of Butcombe 🍺

Stopped off whilst walking the dog this afternoon. So treated eldest son to a latte. Great customer service reasonable prices, would recommend and use again

This was our treat after walking along the beach from Sand Point. We were pleased to arrive and eager for our reward but we were not prepared for the BEST fish and chips we've ever eaten! SO fresh, with flaky cod and light crispy batter and perfect chips. No soggy chips here. No greasy batter here. This was our first visit but it will not be our last - we'll be back!!!

Visited on New Years Day with the family.Great quality food and fantastic service.The shop was really busy but the staff kept on smiling and very really apologetic, which wasn’t necessary.Would highly recommend.The pigs in blankets are amazing!

It's OK.It's in a great location with easy access to the beach.The kids wanted to watch the sunset on the beach- so we thought we'd get some chips to watch it with... But the service is so slow we almost missed the sunset.Portion sizes are ok (though smaller than other chippies I've been too)Price is reasonableThe food is OKEveryone is polite and friendly... But the service is soooo slow. Took about 40 minutes to queue, order and wait for food.

Chips were crispy and soft inside. Although the fish tasted nice, but the batter was a little soft. Overall it was a an enjoyable meal.
