Sun Hall in North Somerset

Due to Storm Eunice power cuts we couldn't cook for a day, so I decided to get a Chinese Takeaway for me and my elderly mother.I have serious food allergies (epipen etc), and my mother has an old person's delicate stomach...Sun Hall were excellent, they checked the ingredients of lots of dishes, and cooked our food specially to order eg no peppers or chillis for me, and a very mild chicken curry (without the mushrooms!) for my mother.I'm used to London takeaways - you certainly get larger portions in Somerset and lots of meat and fresh tasting vegetables too. I had enough in my order (chicken & cashew nuts, vegetable noodles) for two meals and I'm a big chap with a large appetite.Can't recommend enough - I will be bringing my elderly mother an extra mild chicken curry (without mushrooms) and boiled rice from Sun Hall on a monthly basis from now on.Thanks!

When we moved out of central Bristol to a more rural location, I assumed one of the biggest changes would be the loss of access to excellent cooked food. In terms of Chinese food, I could not have been more wrong. I spent 20 years living in various parts of Bristol and nowhere came close to the quality of Sun Hall. It’s perhaps a little more expensive, but the quality is excellent, so it represents great value as far as I’m concerned. Always hot, meat is tender, veggies juicy, fried stuff is crispy and the sauces full of flavour. And they clearly keep their salt/msg use in check as you don’t wake up with an excessively dry mouth the next day! Recommended.

A very good meal and extensive choices. So hard to choose what to try from their selection. Good value and very busy.

Wouldn’t normally review a takeaway but this was particularly good for a Chinese. Ordered ribs, special chow mein, crispy shredded beef and aromatic duck. All dishes were cooked well and were not greasy at all. Friendly service, good value and ready to collect on time. Will visit again when next in the area.

Lived in the area several years ago, and it was my chinese takeaway of choice. Have a great selection of chinese and thai dishes and the quality is very good. My wife is a coeliac (cannot eat gluten) and the staff at sun hall are extremely accommodating and very knowledgeable about what she can eat. Give it a try!
