The New Castle in North Somerset

Rude owner. Shame, as the food and setting were quite nice (as was the member of staff who also served us). But how she thinks it is ok to interact in the way she did is baffling but based on several other reviews it is common.

Yet another great breakfast at the New Castle. Everything freshly cooked plus really nice coffee. Well done, Dave and Anne, not forgetting your great team of helpers.

Excellent service very friendly owners and staff. Great food Heather eating light or for evening meal. Very relaxing.

Visited for coffee and scones but delighted with the service and quality of food. A lovely setting, fantastic views to the sea. There’s a steep incline to go up to access so not ideal for disabled, but there is a disabled parking space on the main road.

Went here for the second time this week with some friends who had been before.Gem of a place, amazing quality,beautiful presentation and lovely view. The owners are lovely and make everything themselves. If I come back to sandy Bay will definitely go back. So nice to see real old fashion courtesy and quality.

Attended 27th February for lunch. We had not booked a table and were told in no uncertain term that we could not sit inside which was fine. The food was nice but we felt we were an inconvenience to the woman who served us. In fact there were three tables of customers who all commented on how rude she was . Not a nice experience..Needless to say I will never darken their doorstep again.

Absolutely fantastic place. Visited with the dog. Food was excellent. Local providence extremely strong. Owners and staff were exceptionally friendly. Excellent service. We’ll be back very soon to try the evening menu.

Came across the New Castle quite by accident and was pleasantly surprised. Lovely breakfast, great ambience and nice view. Menu catered for everyone and young waiter was very attentive and accomodation. Definitely recommend.

Great stop for coffee and cake to die for. All made on the premises freshly. The cafe has a really nice view of Sandbay you can see for miles as it is on the top of the hill at one end of the bay.

Lovely views but lady in charge very rude. Another couple left just before us not happy with the attitude. We were on a walk with dogs and even though it says dogs friendly and the waiter was pleasant even bought biscuits for the dogs. But the lady was quite unfriendly when one of the dogs barked. Felt very unwelcome will not be visiting again shame as it seemed like a nice place
