My wife and I stayed here 21st to 25th March 2022 and it was a very enjoyable stay. The staff are all brilliant especially Shaun who looked after everybody and kept us all entertained, he could not do enough for us.The food was excellent with a good choice and ample portions every meal was lovely. The room was good and well looked after. We would definitely love to go back there at some time and would recommend to other people.

We only used restaurant this time, I was surprised by food quality, I'm not so sure, it's only two stars hotel, however food was spotless, nice presented on the plate, fish perfectly fry, but no any sign of excessive oil, potato's taste very, very good, and was perfectly cooked, salad fresh and crunchy, I would expecting this in 4 and 5 stars hotel....Chief name was David, I think.OK, that's good points.Minus points:Menus little bit tired and tea cup had some wax drop, from candle, milk in metal pot wasn't clean enough outside, and well, that's it, really nothing else. Table clean, heating lanterns work very well with nice flame light effect. Staff very kind, food arrived in 14min, I'm very please with this experience. I wish to see York Hotel with at list one maybe two more stars more in future.

The York Hotel has both welcoming and accommodating staff. The room is clean and comfortable, with all of the necessary facilitiesThe price is excellent, with dinner included.Breakfast is affordably optional. The dining room has a bar, and has a warm and welcoming ambiance, and is neither basic nor down market. There are stairs leading to the main entrance, but there is an alternative entrance at ground level. There is also a lift for those who need it.The York is positioned by the seafront, almost opposite the pier - close to the town centre. This is a hotel that I will be happy to revisit.

Was told I was entitled to a 3 course meal . Had this confirmed via messagesGot there to be told only main meal. .didn't offer anything else 🙄Please be wary. False advertisement. Not happy. All was going well before this. Management didn't seem bothered.Honest opinion. Thanks

Well worth a stay. Had a family room and although it wasn’t on the sea front it was still perfect for us. Food and drink can be pricey but you don’t have to eat in, great little bar with sky sports for the football .Superb location right on sea front next to the grand pier and free parking 👍🏻

The first room we were given was smaller than what we had booked and had a damp issue. Went toreception to be asked to move, when asked why I explained about the damp to which the person behind the desk said - Oh the damp in the windowcorner? They clearly knew there was damp but had still given us the room. The second room was better although it had a broken blind which wasn't apparent until the morning when the light came through. Theremote didn't work however the night porter was helpful and corrected this. We woke to a real overwhelming smell of sewerage in the morning. Itwas vile and just reiterated what a dump this place was, we knew we didn't book the Ritz but I wouldn'tput my enemy here for the night. After asking someone on our departure the complaints procedure I was just given a business card. After many conversations back and forth to no success this is poor on behalf of the hotel and booking.com. I willcontinue to escalate this until I am rightfully refunded my money. I have been made to be at fault for not raising the issues at the hotel at the timedespite already moving rooms after raising the first issue and asking a staff member for the complaints procedure after another issue occurring. Avoid this place at all costs

Stopped by here for food with friends. Dog friendly. I had a great carvery while others had burgers of differing types. All were very happy with the quality if the food. Bar has a good range of draught beers.

The Staff were extremely helpful, very friendly, nothing too much trouble. Our bedroom, in fact, the whole Hotel, is gently shabby, in need of TLC. The linens however are clean and plentiful, tea and coffee not so much! The food was well cooked and allergies heeded well. Looking forward to a return booking in the future.

We popped in here for a meal yesterday - 2 adults (1 vegetarian), 2 teenagers, 2 dogs. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and we were able to sit inside with the dogs. Service was great, the food was lovely and the prices were reasonable. We would definitely recommend the York Hotel as somewhere to eat (especially if you have dogs) 🙂
