Venga in North Somerset

Our family had four really filling Sunday lunches ( we had all meat options available ). All were generous and of excellent quality. Service was very attentive. Music and ambiance also very good. One tiny gripe is that the soft drinks could be less pricey. Would recommend. The Steads.

We’ve been trying with this place for a while… food so average, vibe all off. Weird mix of clientele… not sure what else to say… apart from bring back the old days. Owner stand-offish & only takes care of regulars. It’s had it’s day. Sorry…

Four of us went for lunch and ordered from the sharing menu. We ordered chicken, lamb and pork. Chicken came with a delicious spicy lime sauce, pork with crackling etc... sauces were delivered separately and all the meats arrived in a large sharing dish with the potatoes and vegetables underneath. At first we were a little unsure, as we'd taken the parents and wouldn't usually share like this, but once we got over that, everyone got stuck in and we all agreed that the food was absolutely delicious. The meat just fell open/off the bone and everything was cooked to perfection. We love our vegetables, so the only change I would have made, would have been to have had more vegetables as potatoes and carrots aside there was very little else. The only reason I gave a 4 was because the seating was a little uncomfortable for two of us and the seat kept moving, so we had to keep resetting it. Staff were lovely and I actually think the chef came out at one stage, which is always a nice touch.

Booked a table as we’ve just come back from holiday and fancied some tapas, when we arrived we were told to just go upstairs and find our table. To find a terrible service and food that was just unserviceable was a joke, while staff to worried about a big party table that was going on to be even served drinks. Such a shame as we thought this would of been amazing.

Came for an evening meal with family coming over from the US.Easy to book and a lovely welcome. Very good service from waiters and nice ambience.We ordered 2 tapas each plus chips and 2 bottles of white wine between 4 of us. The quality of the food was excellent, so we ordered a dessert dish, which took a long time coming, so we weren’t charged for it.Total cost came to £30 each for the meal which is not cheap, but it is very good quality!

I really liked the relaxed holiday feel at Venga for my brothers engagement party. It feels like your abroad, just ashame there was no food to purchase on a Sunday evening. The waitress was very attentive clearing away glasses and she asked my brother if everything was ok and going to plan. It is also not buggy/pram/wheelchair friendly as it has a lot of steps to get to the garden.

Excellent food, authentic tapas experience. Lovely staff. Would definitely recommend. Only wished we lived nearby , would love to pop in more often.
