Such lovely friendly staff and very tasty food 100% recommend

I would give 5 stars for the food. Freshly cooked fresh fish, with a light, crisp batter. Chips were just right, cooked in properly hot oil ( no greasiness at all). So why just 2 stars? I was disappointed that there some comments by staff about a customer who left the place ahead of me. I'm not going to go into details in case that customer reads this review. But that upset me a lot. The customer was not respected. I note that there is another review that makes a similar point.

Good value for money, and great tasting fish and chips.

Love the food from here, mostly all cooked to order so may have a wee wait but worth it everytime.

Very rude staff! I hope the owner will fix this issue, otherwise he will keep loosing his clients. Such a shame, products are ok.

We have had take-away from this fish bar on many occasions and always found the food to be very nice. The portions are generous and the prices are middle-of-the-road, which is acceptable given the quantity and quality of the food. The atmosphere is also jovial and friendly.It was a shame then to notice that the owner's very clear efforts to provide a pleasant all-round experience for every type of customer, even catering for those with certain intolerances, did not stretch as far as proof-reading their very professional looking digital advertising boards, or employing a more reputable sign maker, as 'gluten' is spelled with an 'e' and not with an 'o' as in your sign; 'gluton' is not a thing. Nice chips though. 4/5*

Brilliant fish and chips. We were in cheddar visiting the gorge and really wanted to finish the day with fish and chips dinner. Looked at the closest places and they all seamed quite standard even the fancy restaurants, so we travelled a bit out of our way to come here and it didn't disappoint! No frills and pretty décor or style just honest good well cooked fish and chips.Fyi there is a decent pub outside so you can grab a print and get you fish and chips and eat outside! Wish I knew that before!

Attitude of the staff was poor. Cooking food fresh to order which is great but took a long time, again don't mind but an explanation, pleasantries even smiles wouldn't go amiss. Word of advice, never a good idea to talk about your customers when they're in ear shot. Food hot not the best quality, needless to say first and last time we'll be visiting

The thing about winscombe fish bar is they never have an off day. You always know they will deliver at least a 7.5 out of 10. I'd put them in the top 10 fish and chips I've ever had. Chips are just how I like them. Excellent
