A great place in a lively part of town. Offering a great selection of food, generous portions and all perfectly cooked. We had squid and parfait to start, squid was delicious and tender. We were lucky to have the Chateaubriand, there was just one available (worth calling ahead)Definitely recommend booking ahead.

We chose this place at random. Excellent decision! Lovely friendly staff and a good atmosphere. Good choice on the menu too.I had the ox cheek which was delicious and almost melted in my mouth. My husband had the hake which he thoroughly enjoyed. We treated ourselves to pudding, I had chocolate fondant and Simon had the cheeseboard.Overall a great experience and if we were to visit Plymouth again we would definitely eat here.

Beyond outstanding-service, first class and food was incredible. Great vegan options. The champagne was flowing and the atmosphere was great for a lunchtime visit. All of our party had a tremendous time. Worth the train from Exeter!

Great food and the truffle mayo and parmesan fries were the best ever!! Staff friendly and professional. Only down side was the mashed potato hubby had, was on the cold side of aired - admittedly they replaced it straight away with an individual bowl of the same, unfortunately this too was aired at best. That being said hubby was happy with rest of the meal, with the steak cooked perfectly.

We found this on line before our visit and I am so glad we did. The service was friendly and the staff were so helpful with recommendations. The food was amazing. Couldn't fault it. Will be returning on my next trip to Plymouth!

Came here to celebrate a friend's son completing his first year at uni with flying colours. He chose the restaurant, and what a find he made.I usually go for a steak or lamb in any restaurant, but thought as the harbour was jut a stone's throw away I'd try the fish, and I'm converted. We sampled all the nibbles, Marinated Olives, Sticky Chorizo (my favourite), Roasted Garlic Hummus (my other favourite) and the artisan bread. All three of us tried the South Devon Crab Tart, which was divine, and followed up with Roasted Sea Bream and a Ribeye. The sea bream was out of this world. This is a place that is definitely on my "to return" list.

Sharing some photos of a memorable meal at the Barbican Kitchen. There was a relaxed informal atmosphere, excellent food and friendly, efficient service. I was pleased to see that the menu has a varied list of vegan choices as well as vegetarian and meat-containing options. Good to see that there is a set menu as well as à la carte options.
