Nice hotel, but dated in places. I. E. No USB ports and the bed was hard. Nice big room, was staying in a supper king size. Nice shower and a separate bath if needed.

This is surely the most beautiful hotel in Plymouth. It's olde worlde charm has been retained with no effort to make improvements to make it an anonymous modern hotel. The staff, all of them, are wonderful, no matter what the request, their attitude is " nothing is too much trouble"

Lovely, beautiful building with chandeliers and fantastic staircase. Staff friendly and helpful. Meals - modern and not to my taste, but beautifully presented. Would have liked a bedroom with an opening window, instead of a tiny slit. But can't have everything.

I travelled down to Plymouth to see family with a family member. I stayed at Duke of Cornwall and Julie was at reception and was professional and a great welcome to the Hotel. During my stay, the room I stayed in was very well clean and maintained, the bath and shower rooms were of great standard and the quality of food and drink on offer, including price, was better than other venues I have stayed before. I'd highly recommend Duke of Cornwall to all viewers of my review. It was also nice to see Julie again on check out who remembered us again on check out and was very professional during our whole stay. Highly recommend to anyone who stays in Plymouth.

I was due to stay at the hotel at the end of a 250 mile bike ride. Unfortunately, I had a mechanical fault on my bike so had to abandon the ride halfway through. I didn't need to use the hotel room I had booked. The hotel had kindly allowed me to park my car the previous day so when I went in to pay for the parking and cancel my reservation, the receptionist waived the parking fee. I have just received confirmation of a refund for the room too which I wasn't expecting. I shall be staying here at some point in the future as it looks comfortable and it's in a great location!

Very expensive room so I expected high quality .Room very dated, dirty arm chairs , carpet old and stained , shower connected to the bath taps not very good hard to regulate temp , hard pillows ,pre show dinner absolutely terrible .Pork tenderloin obviously cooked day before then reheated, very dry , food didnt look appetizing / appearance poor ,lack of quality and quantity .Staff were fantastic and breakfast was nice .I will not be returning

Stayed here a few times for work. The staff have always been very friendly and helpful. The hotel is an interesting historical building which adds some character to the rooms. Each room I stayed in was slightly different, unlike a typical chain hotel. You can choose from a cooked breakfast menu and also help yourself to some drinks/cereals etc. I had fried bread, beans, mushrooms tomatoes & toast.Parking can be extremely limited if you arrive after 5pm and a few times I have parked in the theatre car park (5minutes walk away) or on the road outside. Approximately £3 overnight (only until 8am!) with RingGO for road parking or much more at the theatre (typically about £8-10 per night).

On the face of this lovely hotel it looked impressive, How wrong we where, it is very dated an tied through out the building, bedrooms and bathrooms in desperately need of modernisation and restoration, carpets that have seen better days an have a peculiar smell. On a positive note the staff are friendly and helpful, we did eat here in the large dinner room in the evenings, we have never been so uncomfortable eating in there it was so ridiculously cold and the radiator's where very hot and not keeping the room to a amibient temperature So we never felt comfortable, our food never stayed that warm from being served to us an put on a stone marble table with no white table cloth . I couldn't honestly recommend the hotel only from our experience. But what is happening to all our hotels is the decline an the lack of investment . It's only a matter of time before this lovely hotel is closed for good.

Had Christmas day lunch here and it was absolutely sublime. The food, the atmosphere and the staff were all perfect. I couldn't recommend The Duke of Cornwall enough. Amazing 11/10

Had a meal with a large group here on January 27th. The set meal they provided was very good, tasty & well presented even though they were catering for 35+ people and had another large gathering at the same time. Very friendly & helpful staff. Would recommend.
