Buffet City in Plymouth

We visited here on 12/03/2022 for sons 10th bday meal, when we entered it was all a bit annoying we pre booked our table for 8 we was then asked to pay in advance wich is fine, then we was showed to a table that wasnr booked for us, then again to our actual table we did ask at booking for 2x high chairs but they wasn't at the table so had to ask again oh and again for them but eventually got them, the food was OK not the best Chinese iv had tbh, was lots of potatoe things like onion rings, has browns etc etc, the noodles were dry thin and sticky, not muxh variety of puddings all cheap tinned peaches, some fresh fruit mostly orange and chocolate swish rolls, lots of ice cream OK if your a child i guess.Drinks were expensive but u guess that's where they make money although by the food standard and variety I guest they arw making it there to.Definitely wouldn't come again tbh for the £12.95 per head I think it was over priced in comparison to the quality and price of other venues iv visited, the meats were all boney, over cooked and dry, the only things I'd recommend to eat would be the prawns, mussles, squid and crab claws even the sea weed looked depressed..Also people were stood by the door for around 20-30mins waiting for a table to become free so I'd definitely recommend if you like throwing money away to book in advance.Thanks but for the £120 we spent I definitely wish we would have taken our money elsewhere..

Staff is always very welcoming and give excellent customer service. Also, food is always great, so Many choices! My loved ones And myself are regular customers since we moved to Plymouth in 2015. Never disappointed, always great experience there. Thanks for THEIR hard work 😊

Food is always so good, recently refurbished, staff are angels, they do their best to make you feel welcomed and safe. Very clean and just really great vibes, covid rules are still in place.

Went Buffet City after we saw Argyle play at home was bit hesitant as we have both read bad reviews but can honestly say both my son and myself found the whole experience brilliant very quick service considering how busy they were very polite and attentive food was plenty and fresh we kept pigging away till we was full 10 out off 10

food was quite nice and seemed freshly cooked, we in the evening so price was higher and so expected a little more variety then was on offer . But very clean and had nice time

Nice Chinese buffet restaurant with a large selection of starters, mains and desserts. Good tasting food and excellent service from staff. Really enjoyed the ambience of the place. Reasonable price for an all you can eat buffet. Situated close to Royal Parade bus stops.

Make sure you turn up with a healthy appetite as there is such a wide selection of beautifully cooked buffet food available! It's a stylish restaurant that offers excellent value for money, will definitely be dining here again soon. Highly recommended!'

Hadn't visited buffet city in years so our visit yesterday was a better experience than our last. The decor is much better but the food needs much improvement. Not a massive choice compared to other that have been in the area. Some food was soggy and others were dry. Very similar sauces for many dishes, sweet and sour, satay or black bean. The crab claws are the best and thankfully had those. Desert choices are very limited and could be much better. Found it pricey for the choice. Found hair on 2 separate occasions when picking food but with it being a buffet style I could only assume it was from a customer. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Just needs food quality and choices to be much better.

Great, delicious, full of flavour Chinese. Buffet City is a nice, family friendly restaurant with a really good service.***UPDATE! ***Gave a 5 stars at first BUUUUUUT we were RIPPED OFF! When paying I was told my 8 year old son and 10 year old daughter were above 140cm height, so we had to pay full rather than kids portion for both of them. I didn't have a measure with me (cause who carries it in their purse!!!) to prove they're wrong and they apparently have something on the wall that's 140cm. So went with it and paid a ridiculous price! Got home, measured my kids and it turned out they're both under 140! My advice, bring your tape measure with you and don't let them rip you off.
