I am down in Plymouth for some considerable time carrying out a project. I had been looking for a nice venue to have breakfast and tried several. I then found Jakes, to be greeted by a very pleasent and attractive manageress.I found the English breakfast to be presented well, the portions good but most importantly priced reasonably. The Staff dispite being young are always nice and nothing is too much trouble. I will always seek out Jakes for Breakfast.

Ordered a coffee and there was lipstick marks still on mug, I politely returned it and they brought me back another with a floating hair in it. Being bald it definitely wasn't mine. I just abandoned the coffee and I won't be returning. I prefer the other jakes

I had the full breakfast 🤔 , the fried egg was cooked perfectly , the bottom of the 🍅 was burnt and tasted bitter , the bacon was dry and barely warn and my toast was barely toasted and was cold , the sausages had a unusual Herbie taste and deep fried ,the mushroom were just greasy and tasted awful and to top it off my tea was strong and Milky and barely warm , I couldn't even finish eating it .

The staff is friendly, I had the eggs Benedict it was nice and tasty but the salad could be a bit more fresher with a bit more salad added to it, The floors and walls could be cleaner, I wasn't too pleased on that they allow customers with dogs inside when they have a perfectly good outdoor seating area this is very unhygienic not good for business that customers are eating their food and not very hygienic that customers have to walk through the kitchen area to use their toilet.
