Not even worth the 1 star rating!Booked for Mother’s Day today (obviously being the day that it is, you’d expect them to have catered for the extra amount of people. - although it didn’t appear to be that much busier. We had a 10 o’clock slot, and we didn’t get our breakfast until gone 11am!Appalling service, items not being replenished (ketchup, butter, bread, breakfast items (bringing out 3 eggs at a time!?) ,rude ignorant kitchen staff and bar staff,, the toast machine was burning the toast or losing it down the back of the machine, that’s if your lucky you even got any bread as by the time you waited for them to bring bread out your breakfast was cold, same as the hot drink you ordered when you went into the restaurant. No plates available, had to ask for more plates, waited 10 minutes and then they came out dirty! No apology from them regarding the service or the wait when they saw the queue of people that were obviously very unhappy and fed up. Food was disgusting, after waiting over an hour, we asked for a refund and left. The manager told us ‘I’ve only been here 10 minutes’- well surely if it’s one of the busiest days you’d prepare your staff team enough for the larger amount of people. We will not be returning, ever.Don’t waste your money or your time!

Me and my partner visited this week for lunch. Dave, the manager was really helpful & attentive. Our drinks were served quickly. We headed to the carvery station, the food was fresh, rob was very informative & carved our fresh meats. Lots of colourful veggies on offer and super tasty gravy! Will definitely return soon! Fab service & a fab meal thanks!

I went (pre-booked) on a Sunday for a roast, and what a difference (since my last visit years ago), nice polite helpful staff, nice roast. My only negative would be that you have limited time at your table which is shortened by the long wait in the queue for the food (the Carvery needs to be ready at 1200 to serve people)

My family loves this place. The meats are often dry. I wish it is moister. Karen? took this. Christmas 2018

Super star waitress 🌟. Karen is a asset to your staff here. She is friendly and attentive. One fish and chips and one carvery. Fish and chips 5/5 the carvery was a 4 but I think this was due to the time we arrived. If we had arrived at mid day it would have looked fresher. Due to being sat under the hear lamps the veg all looked dry and the stuffing was so bad that I couldn't get any. But the gammon and gravy was fab which is the best part. Chocolate brownie and sticky toffee for dessert. The brownie gets a 3/5 really thick and stodgy and the sticky toffee 4/5. Service brilliant here food could do with a bit of tlc. Definitely will be coming back for another weekday roast

Just had a lovely meal at the Lord Louis. Staff were very engaging and friendly. They told us of a short delay awaiting fresh vegetables. Chef lady gave us a few extras until food was ready. Our waitress Karen was so friendly and nothing was too much trouble for her. She kept popping over to check we were OK.

Visited about 11am most of the staff were lovely wasn’t very busy. But the attitude of the licensee is appalling. Used to be a nice place to visit after work for a few pints but not any more. It wouldn’t surprise me if this pub had lost a lot more custom because of her attitude. The way she spoke to us was disgusting definitely won’t be visiting again.

Came down for an unplanned lunch with my girlfriend and young daughter this afternoon. We were greeted by a lovely lady who explained how to order, where the highchairs were etc. We ordered two pints, a carvery and a pizza. There was a slightly weird taste to the beers, but Dave, one of the managers, was brilliant and dealt with it straight away. The pub wasn't too busy, but we were pleasantly surprised at the speed of service. My pizza was on the table within 15 minutes and was stunning. Some might say it needed another minute in the oven, but slightly soft is exactly how I like it! My girlfriend's carvery was well carved and tasty and my daughter was well catered for as well. Would definitely recommend, based on this visit, thanks to all the staff!

Went to Lord Louis this evening and we was waiting for a good half an hour for our drinks. The lovely lady who noticed we was missing our drinks for a long time and she gave us free deserts! Was over the moon with the service and she was so friendly! Will definitely be back Thankyou x
