Pizza Express in Plymouth

Friendly staff and chefs, quick service. None of the tables were cleared, all left filthy, managers did not seem to notice or lead by example and sort it out

Me and my partner dined during half term… It was ever so busy and the staff were run off their feet. Could not of done enough for us, although clearly worked hard they still ensured we had a great service. Will be back!

Went to Derrys Cross Pizza Express before the theatre in Plymouth, booked months in advance and in good time to eat before the theatre. Absolutely dire experience, will never return, food was not ready after an hour and we had to give up as it was time to go to the show. Very fed up and hungry people particularly a 10 year old. Completely ruined the evening. Whilst I appreciate they were short staffed I would rather they cancelled us than the terrible experience we had. The one star is for the staff who was so embarrassed by the service and even said so, they were polite and apologetic even when everyone was complaining due to the terrible experience.

this is my favourite pizza express. they clearly pay close attention to detail. friendly staff, that are worth every tip i pay.

Delicious food, decent portions, and friendly helpful staff. Enjoyed my visit there today.

Have been coming here for over 10 years for birthday meals with our children but think we'll give it a miss in future. No garlic prawns available for starter (apparently sold out) so opted for brushetta but this was poor. Small slab of dry dough with chopped dry mini cubes of what looked like tomato but had zero taste, few tiny pieces of red onion and 2 basil leaves and about half a teaspoon of green pesto. Very underwhelmed and disappointing as this used to be lovely previously. All 4 of us had pizzas which were OK but nothing wow really. My Fiorentina didn't have any garlic taste at all as it was meant to, and always has in the past as it has been one of my favourites so know what it used to taste like. Had to add lots of pepper, garlic and chilli oil to make it tasty - such a shame as had been looking forward to my birthday meal with the family. One of us wanted a Calzone but without the chilli but were told that these are not made fresh so cannot omit certain ingredients! Overall an OK meal but if we hadn't had the Tesco coupon to give us money off, would have felt it was not value for money any more as food quality not what it used to be unfortunately.

I took my class of children here for a pizza party as part of their DT project in school. The manager has been brilliant at answering questions and helping me to organise this experience for the children. Needless to say, they had a brilliant time and all enjoyed returning to school with an individual pizza to share with their families!

Pizza Express service was very slow, meals didn't arrive at the same time so some of us had finished eating before others got their food. Food arrived not as described in the menu. All in all a dismal experience. I fully appreciate that some food outlets are struggling with staff shortages but perhaps they should take fewer bookings to avoid unhappy customers, or at least warn in advance that lunch will take the best part of two hours.

Was very quiet, suppose with being mid week so service fast and efficient. Clean and orderly and the pizza are good (particularly classic base). Bathrooms are down stairs so for disabled could be a problem, but once reached are clean and comfortable. All in all a good experience and would certainly return.
