Ate cod and chips from here while we were staying in the area. Possibly the best fish and chips we've tasted: crisp batter, fish firm, chips un-soggy. So good we went back for more of the same later in the week. Highly recommended.

Tried here for the first time this evening and can honestly say that I can't remember the last time I had fish and chips this good, everything was perfect! Will definitely be coming back.

I bought a meal here yesterday and must say that I wasn't impressed. Everything was overpriced e.g. £2.80 for 5 chicken nuggets. The nuggets were totally a waste of money because they were cooked in the same oil they use to fry the fish and tasted of fish, my daughter doesn't eat fish she took one bite and didn't eat the rest. The jumbo sausage's name is misleading, as they charge a lot of money for it I was expecting something huge. It can only be described as large at best The chips were a small portion for the price. The only thing that was worth it was the curry sauce.

Called in for haddock, cod and chips (for three of us - I did not eat the lot!) and very pleased😋. All cooked to order and tasted really good. Post Xmas diet means that the visits are infrequent 😞

I love the fish here. I love the crunchy batter & portion sizes. Service is great. Very attentive staff. To be able to pick up a bottle of decent white wine with my fish & chips is a bonus. The shop is always very clean which gives you confidence in whats happening out back. A good find, a hidden gem.

Always great fish and chips and really good for Gluten Free batter. All the GF food is cooked in the chip oil and not with the other fish. Lovely service and very freshly cooked to order. You can phone an order through for later pickup. A range of wines and cold drinks are available.

This is written after two recent fish and chip meals at the The chip Stop. Because I had been so impressed the first time I returned to check my first impressions. I was not disappointed the fish was cooked freshly while I waited and was deliciously moist in a thin and light batter. The chips were also perfectly cooked using a tasty potato. The whole was well presented in its box - the best fish and chips I've had for years - highly recommended.
