On the face of this lovely hotel it looked impressive, How wrong we where, it is very dated an tied through out the building, bedrooms and bathrooms in desperately need of modernisation and restoration, carpets that have seen better days an have a peculiar smell. On a positive note the staff are friendly and helpful, we did eat here in the large dinner room in the evenings, we have never been so uncomfortable eating in there it was so ridiculously cold and the radiator's where very hot and not keeping the room to a amibient temperature So we never felt comfortable, our food never stayed that warm from being served to us an put on a stone marble table with no white table cloth . I couldn't honestly recommend the hotel only from our experience. But what is happening to all our hotels is the decline an the lack of investment . It's only a matter of time before this lovely hotel is closed for good.

Had Christmas day lunch here and it was absolutely sublime. The food, the atmosphere and the staff were all perfect. I couldn't recommend The Duke of Cornwall enough. Amazing 11/10

We really loved our stay for 1 night here it’s a beautiful hotel the staff were lovely and very helpful there was only a superior room left so we booked the room which didn’t really seem any different to a standard room but was lovely and clean the only issue we had the bed was very uncomfortable including the pillows which I don’t think have been changed for a very long time the mattress has a dip in the middle I’m assuming it’s a very old mattress there was an event going on at the hotel late at night so there was abit of noise was quite disturbing as it was outside they were making quite a lot of noise overall me and my boyfriend didn’t get a lot of sleep other than that everything else good i think it just needs an upgrade on pillows and mattresses

Very welcoming staff, food was ok. Could do with improvement and better portions for the price. Very clean place and comfortable.

Had a meal with a large group here on January 27th. The set meal they provided was very good, tasty & well presented even though they were catering for 35+ people and had another large gathering at the same time. Very friendly & helpful staff. Would recommend.

It's a beautiful old victorian hotel with the most amazing grade 2 listed spiral staircase..close to the town and harbour. The rooms were clean and comfy but if your looking at ultra modern this is not the place for you.The hotel does have a car park at the rear but its £5.00 per day even for hotel guests which is a bit annoying It's dog friendly at £10.00 per night.Breakfast was adequate and the staff were lovely.

Great place. Our room was very big and comfy. Dogs friendly. Lovely place for dogs next to the hotel. Not far to the see side and also to the city centre. Highly recommended 👌 👍 👏 💯

We stayed at this lovely hotel for 1 night. We had an amazing 3 course meal in dining room...absolutely delicious.Staff extremely friendly and helpful.Room was very clean...shower was amazing...powerful and hot. The only thing was that the bed wasnt comfortable at all.Apart from that fabulous and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.Great location to everything. Pavillion theatre next door.

I booked and stayed at the Duke of Cornwall Hotel a couple of weeks ago.The booking process was easy and simple. On arrival the receptionist, Julie, was very welcoming in checking me and my family in, arrange the taxi to get us to a great restaurant we would be going to the same evening. Inside we were helped with getting our luggage to our room and also any other places outside of the Hotel that would be of good service. It was also nice the way Julie checked us out and was especially polite in asking how our stay was and if we enjoyed the service we received? We will definitely return again and recommend to anybody else on their stay in Plymouth!

Perfectly situated if, as we were, you are visiting Plymouth Pavilion. We could see the venue just across the road from our room. Lift was "being serviced" or more likely, broken but we were travelling light. Generally the hotel had an air of under investment but was clean, if dated. Breakfast was nice and staff were lovely.
