Toby Carvery in Plymouth

Nice friendly staff but I was a bit annoyed when we went up to get our food. All the meat was at the end of the joints and full of fat and gristle. The young lad put some beef on my plate that I wouldn't even give to my dog. Asked him to take it off the plate and give me proper meat, to which he proceeded to cut of the odd little pieces that he could find and gave me them. If it wasn't for a big cue of people behind me I would of asked him to go get some decent meat, but felt I had held the cue up enough by the time he had finished butchering the last bit of the joint. Also felt a bit cheated because they brought out a huge joint of pork just after I sat down, which I would of preferred. Other than that, I was quite happy with my food and the service

The food was lovely, especially the meats and sliced potatoes with leeks in a creamy sauce. I only just started going back to Toby after I felt it went downhill a few years ago and after the last two visits recently, I don't feel this is the case any more!!

Fantastic place for breakfast or a roast, self serve for breakfast, lovely giant cheese and onion yorkies and gravy on the breakfast! Plus cheesy spuds! Fill up your plate as much as you want. Fantastic value. I'll be back soon x

The best friendly service came from the worker cutting the meats and serving you a Yorkshire pudding . His personality shown through and left me with a good experience from the Toby Carvery . However the waiting service was adequate as we weren’t asked a simple question at the end “ how was your meal ? “ . The waiter we had just was a bit rushed and gave us hardly any time . Overall the Carvery was banging and delicious .

First time there,absolutely loved the all you can eat breakfast. Excellent service highly recommend going there. 👍

Went with my husband and two friends was lovely, we sat in the pub side and it was easy enough paid for our food at the bar and went up to get it. The meal itself was nice the potatoes were crunchy and the vegetables weren't soggy which I have found at other carvery. They have refillable soft drink option which is always a plus. All in all a very nice place

Nice staff management allowed us in even though we hadn't booked but we had driven along way so a big thank you. Food was nice except only turkey but that was ok as we were hungry.

Lots of free parking, a good atmosphere with good staff levels. The food is ok it’s more about quantity apparently but the vegetarian options are very tasty.

1st visit to the carvery after many recommendations from friends. The service and the staff are all welcoming and helpful. Food is delicious and well cooked. Had a wonderful evening. Highly recommended. I have only given it 5 stars because that is all it goes up to
