We had the most superb meal here last night to celebrate my 40th birthday. There were 15 of us and everyone really enjoyed their meal. The service was impeccable and staff very friendly. The portion sizes are very generous and the flavours of each dish were faultless. if I could put more than 5 stars I would. I and the rest of our table have all said we will be coming back very soon.

I have been to this restaurant 3 times in the last month and today I gave them some feedback on their dishes. I told them that I thought their starters could be improved but their main courses were great. The staff were very agressive and negative and told me if I do not like it to go, so I did and will never go back, because of the this disgraceful disregard for my feedback. I hope anybody else who goes there have a better experience but please do not be shy to tell them what you really think.

Authentic Italian food is what you'll find at Alghero. The tomato sauce is simply delicious and tastes just like the one that Italian grandmothers make. The place is well lit and cozy, relaxing. Staff are very nice and friendly! I will definitely come back, and so should all of you 🌹

My family and I had a delicious 4 course banquet here and we were thoroughly impressed. I am half Italian and have spent most of my summers in Alghero, Sardinia, where my dad is from. We came here because the name caught my attention and because we saw a few classic Sardinian dishes on the menu. Our host was instantly friendly and inviting and was quick to have our drinks on the table. We had a Sardinian cannonau and vermintino. She also brought us bread, butter and Sardinian crispbread with a delicious homemade tapenadeMost of us had the fregola soup to start, the portion was large and the soup was perfect, it reminded me of the fish soups I have had in alghero and the fregola was cooked perfectly, my girlfriend has the prawns and again she got loads of them, all peeled and butterflied in a perfectly rich sauce. Our pasta course followed and I went for the gnochetti sarda with Italian sausage. It was again a perfect meal for me. My girlfriend had the penne ragu and even the bolognese was deliciously earthy. For main course I had the veal Marsala which again was delicious and it’s nice to see veal in an Italian restaurant as it is usually forgotten here in England. All the sides were delicious but at this point the food had defeated usFinally a few of us were able to force ourselves to order dessertI had the nougat semifreddo which was perfectly light and finished the meal of beautifully even though I was already stuffed. We also tried the tiramisu which was the most coffee intense Tiramisu I’ve had, very flavoursome. We capped all of this off with an ice cold glass of red mirto as a digestifAll in all this was the most authentic italian I have had in a long long time in England and the only authentic Sardinian.Thoroughly recommend seeking this restaurant out if you are in or even near Poole for the evening

We were visiting Poole for a couple of nights and came across this gem. The food was excellent as was the service, proper Italian food. Very reasonable on price too. The seaford paella was amazing. Would definitely recommend and go back when visiting Poole again.
