Hotel du Vin Bistro Poole in Poole

Good service. Chicken liver starter was pretty good and well served. The duck was good overall but the sirloin steak was a little over cooked overall. Taste was not too bad but nothing special overall.

I can’t remember the last time I had a good meal here unfortunately.Kudos for the nice wine list, the smart decor and the pleasant, accommodating staff.The food however is just ‘ok’. The liver parfait was very good but the main, whilst being tasty was very fatty and did not represent good value.To be honest, I have had much better quality and better value meals at a Cotes or Cafe Rouge. I think they are coasting on the sails of their hotel franchise. What a shame .Finally, watch out for the request onthe bill for a gratuity when they already charge service on food and drink.

Really average. Our risotto was uncooked and had to be returned. Other dishes were ok but nothing stood out. Ok to turn up if you're staying in the hotel but I wouldn't go here just to dine.
