Hungry Horse in Poole

Awful service-I asked if they could wipe the table which had spilt food/drink from the last people that had used it - the grumpy waitress said no I as I am serving a table at the moment. This was understandable but after she had finished she didnt wipe it or ask anyone else to do it.I had tissues and sanitiser in my bag so used that - the tissue was black after I had used it! Then our starters arrived with no cutlery - I asked at the bar are we to collect it from somewhere and he said no (no apology) she will bring it. No joy there - so I asked another waitress and she eventually came out with children's cutlery and even after realising it was for adults she just said oh I thought it was for the children and that was the last we heard from her! The mains, which did arrive wuth cutlery 👏were all cold or luke warm which is not what you want from a mixed grill! - the children even said they didn't want to eat pudding there as the food was so awful and the pace felt pretty grubby! So no I would not recommend this place!

Never thought of visiting before but we were so impressed with the food and bar staff, we will definately return.Not going to lie looking at the menu and pictures we thought it's too cheap to be true but the steaks were amazing, big portions as well. Well done Chef!Bar staff was also superhelpful and friendly.(Just no more sticky tables and menu's please! It does need a deep clean though and then you are up to scratch with everything.)

Initial impressions were quite good. Very friendly bar staff. On closer inspection, the whole place needed a deep clean. Tables were sticky, menu's were dirty, toilets were disgusting. Food was average. We will not be returning unfortunately.

Love this pub when we come down for the weekend. Found a hidden dessert. Check the kids menu and you'll find kids dessert sharing board. It's lovely. More than enough for everyone. Definitely recommend 👌

Visited twice over a weekend. On both occasions the table needed to be cleaned which the staff were happy to do. Food was good, exactly what you would expect and didn't have to wait too long. Staff were great but it could do with being a bit cleaner.

Obviously not bothered with customer service. Booked a table for a group of us to watch the rugby, on arrival we were told bluntly 'not showing that anymore'. Nothing else offered, so we left.If you like an inviting pub where you feel welcome, try somewhere else.

Really nice GF meal for me & great pick n mix meal for my mum. Really good sized portions (too much for my mum, but great for most people). Friendly & helpful staff. Definitely will be going back.

Great value selected big plate specials on a Saturday for only £7.99. Staff are always friendly.Meal for 2 with soft drinks just over £20!Brilliant value!!

An amazing experience, came in for some breakfast and it took me back to the olden Cafe, hit just the spot! Staff did beautifully, greeted and served with big smile by Ryan, what a lovely pub! See you again soon.

Just popped in for some food and a few drinks nice friendly atmosphere lots of seating & a nice beer garden out the back, food was nice & a good menu as it's a hungry horse pub
