Dorset can relax ! They're BACK !I am delighted to say that not only are they back, they're better than ever.My son and I dined at Isabel's Brasserie last night and it was terrific. Great service from all the girls. Sarah handles the front of house with skill and diplomacy and Justin's cooking is imaginative and brilliantly executed. They're open for lunch and dinner, so get yourselves round there and sample their delicacies immediately !Julian Holloway

Staff very friendly, food was wonderful. Only a couple of criticisms. On arrival, the canapes are served as soon as you sit down. None of the waiting staff pour the wine during the meal. ( Could make more money if they did) The Bernaise sauce was over vinagered. Otherwise great, will definitely be back and recommend to others.

Saturday afternoon lunch,Front of house good. Decor excellent, nice bathrooms with pampering lotions. Good selection on menu including a vegetarian menu. Good wine list. Staff serving poor not trained enough. The serving time on food not right too quick. Extra £3.45pp vegetables poor combination. Extra charge for bread & butter £1.50pp ( not requested thought this was included) Requested bill eventually paid at bar as staff disappeared. Once staff know what they are doing may return not really a recommendation yet.

Place is very popular, and the food is very good. Service is excellent, with food offered in a very nice presentation style. Yet while the decor is part French, its not classical. food is not really French, or regional French in terms of the menu. The crêpes are over filled for French cuisine for example. Compared to the popular chains such as COTE, which managed to produce French style for the masses this seems strange. The use of booths is very effective in keeping the noise to a reasonable level. In terms of use of herbs, their seem to use local sources, even for the garlic. Sorry but English garlic is just not suited to a French restaurant.

Service slow and lacked the finishing touches from the front of house staff. Cutlery wasn’t matched to food ordered, wine wasn’t offered to taste before pouring.Food also wasn’t great; two dodgy mussels in linguini, Bloody Mary without any flavour or condiments, sea bass served with sweet chilli sauce was just odd and cheap. Was advertised as chilli and garlic on the menu…Biggest gripe was the surcharge for veg and chips / dauphinois - £3.45! Especially as half the table had ordered linguine and not everyone would have liked it. Make sure you read the menu before accepting what sounds like selecting your complimentary sides.Won’t be returning unless these things get fixed as you can find a more reasonable food and dining experience elsewhere

Nearly as good as it was at Ashley Cross. Can’t fault the food but I would love to see more vegan and vegetarian starter choices. Would also love to see the Monk fish in brandy sauce back ( not quite sure if I have described it right) on the menu but actually I really loved the whole experience and wish the owners all the very best.What an asset to Penn Hill. Fantastic, long will it continue! and Thank you.

My favourite restaurant hands down. Trying to find better in Dorset would be a challenge. Before relocating this restaurant had hundreds of 5* reviews, a travesty it has to start its google reviews again. Here’s to the first of many I am sure! Welcome back.

Food is lovely but not a wow factor, front of house very poor, for the prices they charge you shouldn't have to ask for special cutlery, waiting 20 mins till a drink order taken when you first arrive and then not knowing which gin they have or if they offer non alcoholic beer, which they don't. Once sat at your table starters came out and we had to ask for more drinks the wine menu. Being charged £3.45 for side veg is a joke, I had pasta still was charged for side veg I didn't have, perhaps ask who wants it, plus £3.45, veg isn't that expensive, your mains aren't moderate, more expensive, to pay those prices I want front house staff to wow me, improvement needed to justify the price, overall rating average

Our daughter treated us to dinner at Isobel’s last evening. The food and service was absolutely top notch. We had chateaubriand, it was cooked to perfection and the accompanying sauce and vegetables were lovely. I would go again in a heartbeat. Thank you Isabel's staff for making our evening special.

Absolutely fantastic. Had a three course meal from the a la carte menu, plenty of choice including vegetarian and gluten free options. Used to adore Isabels @ Ashley Cross so had really high expectations, and Isabels Brasserie did not disappoint! Staff all very friendly and accommodating, food absolutely divine, generous portion sizes, delicious drinks (the New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc is incredible) and a great atmosphere. So pleased that it was everything I would have hoped for it to be, can’t wait to return again in the New Year. Thanks Isabels!!
