Decided to step away from the regular restaurant chains in Poole and so glad we did. A delightful meal at Riggers while staying locally.Beautiful sunset views from the restaurant- and the upstairs bar (even better view) and a good spot for post dinner drinks.Food very reasonably priced. Service very friendly. Would visit again without hesitation, also good to be supporting the RNLI.

Great little restaurant based inside the RNLI College but open to the public. The food is nice, the prices very reasonable and the staff are always friendly. The views out over Poole Harbour are brilliant too, sit upstairs if you can! Would thoroughly recommend a visit!

Nice Sunday lunch at a very reasonable price. With the beef being cooked perfectly (rare)! Most of the staff were helpful and friendly. Would definately go again.

Spoke to a very helpful person when booking our table of 4. Service slow at the bar. Food OK but chips were very undercooked. Think they could take a look at cleanliness i.e. gravy splatters up the white metal posts from previous diners where we sat. Overall ok but prices here are creeping up. You pay for the car park despite being patrons of the restaurant.

Food was excellent so compliments to the chef. But the service was absolutely terrible. On trying to order our dessert and more wine we were blatantly ignored by 3 members of staff (at one point being told we had to wait). We thought waiting for nearly 40mins to even order our dessert was unacceptable so we got up and left. Manager apologised. We were also approached by one of the waiters on our way out asking more or less what our problem was. It was all very embarrassing. Needless to say we will not be returning. Shame because the venue is very nice and the evening started so well.

Came here for my birthday. What a fabulous choice I made! The Royal National Lifeboat Institution college is an impressive architect designed building in beautiful harbour side surroundings. You dine in a bright, circular shaped room which looks out across the quay. We had the buffet lunch. Dinner is served after 4pm. After our meal we went upstairs to the bar for a liqueur where the views are even more enjoyable. This is a lovely and unusual place to have a meal.

I think they were closing down for the Xmas period. They had very few draft beers on and those the did tasted off. These were soon removed and we were told they would not be available again until the new year. This left just Amstel on draft. We ordered food, two fish and chips and a kofta wrap, all were brought out in less than five minutes, thus not freshly prepared. The battered fish was dry and over cooked as if left under heat lamps for hours. When we mentioned the bad beer and rubbish food we were told "I'll let the team know." Then at 2140 we were told in these exact words and no more " last orders at the bar." There was no apology, no explanation, nothing. When we left at about 2230 there was no member of staff in the bar. I was surprised that there wasn't an instruction to turn the lights off as we left. Absolutely rubbish service throughout the evening.

The Sunday lunch carvery is back and just as good as ever. We had a lovely lunch yesterday the beef was succulent and tasty and the pork was cooked perfectly with wonderful crackling. Very good service and beautiful views across Poole harbour.

Excellent food with great choices. Very good very good value for money. Upstairs is the bar which has wonderful views of the harbour and the life boats. There is a conference suite which is suoerb and there is accommodation for members. All in all it is a very good asset to Poole.
