Second time here and even better than the first.Great for Veggies as well as meat eaters. Amazing selection of Sunday roasts.Came here with others who took advantage of the multiple meats for a roast. Best place I've found so far in Poole for vegetarian options on a roast dinner.....so tasty and flavoursome

Came here for the first time for the Sunday roast dinner and all 3 of us are presently surprised at how good the food was; the portions are generous, even the meat, and everything tasted really good and fresh. The left overs from nan's roast (as stayed, very generous) was wrapped really well to take home. This is one of the only places my Notoriously fussy Nan has actually liked! The staff are friendly and the place is clean, stylish with a shipshape feel to it.Booking is recommended.

We had fish and chips in here and our children choose chicken strips from children menu. It was one of the best food I had in my life. Served beautifully on good size plate. The place looks amazing as well. Highly recommend this place for everyone to eat in. We will be back here if we visit Poole again.

We have just been for our first roast and the Rope and Anchor and we have had such a lovely time. The food was great and all the members of staff were welcoming and attentive. Would definitely recommend and we shall be coming back for sure in the future. Thank you.

Arrived without a booking on a Sunday lunch time no problem in getting a table the management went above and beyond giving us a reserve table asking us if we could finish in a couple of hours. No problem. Mind you when you see the carvery it's big we had plumped for two meats more than generous portion we could not have eaten a pudding. We will have to go back for that another day. We could not fault this pub one bit it's so friendly. Good price for the food as well

The welcome and food at Rope and Anchor were superb and very good value. Definitely recommend to dog owners and those withoutThankfully we googled dog friendly pubs in Poole, having been turned away from Wetherspoons Quay on waterfront as they don't accept dogs even though we were sitting outside.

Amazing food with a very large selection of gluten-free options. If you are lucky enough to get looked after by James you are in very good hands. Booking is advised as it's a popular pub with locals and tourists alike. Enjoy. M

We popped here with our puppy at around 7pm on Friday evening. It was perfect. Friendly welcome and stunning food. I've added pics but they don't do the food (Steak pie/ chicken burger) justice. 10/10 :-) Oh and they sell real ale which was a big bonus for me 🍺

We luckily managed to book a table for 2 adults and 2 children at the Rope and Anchor on a Wednesday evening in August and were so glad. The food is traditional pub food that is not only cooked and presented really well but which is also really tasty and so much better then that on offer in some of the chain pubs in the surrounding area. The pub itself is situated close enough to Poole quay to be near enough to most of the evening attractions but far enough away from the bustle and crowds on the quay itself. The pub is really clean and tidy throughout and even if you don’t manage to book a table for food yourself you should visit just for a drink to read about interesting history of the pub mentioned on a plaque on the stairs to the incredibly clean toilets on the 1st floor. This pub is a true treat for a nice family meal but book early to avoid being disappointed.

Excellent "dog friendly" jewel! Really enjoyed our fish and chips. My partner has swordfish and said it was very nice. Drinks selection lovely and staff very friendly. Will be back next time we visit Poole.
