Where is Top Wok?

🏠 129 Bournemouth Rd, Poole BH14 9HR

"In 1994, Ronnie opened the first Top Wok kitchen in Christchurch. Top Wok soon raised the quality of food on offer and revolutionised the industry, it was the first Chinese takeaway to feature an open plan kitchen that allowed customers to watch the chefs cook their food. From the outset Ronnie knew he would make the best Chinese dishes in the south, but by using the best quality ingredients and cooking every order from scratch Top Wok did something radically different. No pre-prepared cooking warmed up in microwaves behind the scenes like so many other takeaways. Ronnie refused to sway from this commitment to quality. “Quality Chinese cooking using Better Ingredients has been at the foundation of Top Wok for more than 20 years.""

Disappointing quality and expensive. My partner and I fancied a treat on Sunday as he is recovering from covid. Ordered 1 special fried rice and 1 beef chow main and 1 bag of prawn crackers. Came to £16.00! Was a bit shocked and we were further disappointed by the rice, seemed like boiled rice with about 6 peas, 2 flakes of egg, a couple of bits of meat and 2 Prawns. I have been using top wok for many years as it is walking distance from us, what has happened?

Ordered online and it stated 1 hour. Called them after 1.5hrs and told it'll be another 20-30 minutes. Expect a 2hr wait, but the food is great

Delious blackbeen chicken and rice, very fresh with a kick of spice. Quick and efficient pick up. Highly recommend.

Really good quality food.

Really nice most of the time, but about 10% of the time the food is really greasy, which is a shame as it’s normally the least greasy place around.

Food is great, but prep/delivery is shocking. Previously had a 2 hour wait, so tonight we called up to see what times were like. We were told between 45mjns -1hour. 2 hours later we are still waiting!I wish it was worth the wait, but I'm not sure any meal is worth that wait!

The food is alright, but not great. More pricey than most Chinese takeaways yet not worth the extra money. I don't mind paying more for excellent food but every dish I've had here has been average or below. And never any free prawn crackers, even when spending nearly £40!My daughter said the duck was good, and I found the egg fried rice nicer than most. But the seaweed was awful and there's very little seafood selection. It's either prawns, prawns or prawns, plus one squid option. No fish at all!And if you eat seafood but not meat, and are gluten intolerant then you'll have to stick to the vegetables or tofu, as all but one prawn dish are covered in wheat batter.I'll stick to China Fusion until Yum Yum reopens. Or I might drive all the way to Hamworthy for Rainbow!

First time ordering from here. I pre-ordered the day before as it was for New Year’s Eve. We had arranged the afternoon around the delivery time of 5.45 so was a bit of a pain that it arrived 15 mins early as we weren’t ready....However, the food was absolutely spot on. We are really fussy about Chinese and have tried 3 others in the Poole area since moving down in August...but this will be the one we return to. The food was cooked perfectly and was ever so clean, fresh and not greasy at all. Would definitely recommend if you’re able to pre-order.We phoned a few days later and the 1.5 hour delivery time put us off but we will pre-order next time 😊Thanks for a lovely meal!

Takes a while to arrive, and is definitely pricier than the other places around here... but absolutely worth the wait and the extra pounds!! Hands down the most delicious and fresh Chinese I’ve ever had, cooked to perfection!! Would absolutely recommend, just be prepared to wait a while!

Good fast Chinese food to take away. Bit pricy but worth it as food westbound oily like some Chinese resturants.
