Grand Hotel Swanage Restaurant and Bar in Purbeck

Had a wonderful stay in Room 317 with sea views. Left windows open to wake to the sound of he waves. Lovely staff. Good food. Parking limited

We had to switch rooms as my partner bashed his head on the attic style pillars each side of the bed! Then the room was too hot even after turning off the radiators (windows open)and I didn't sleep well during my stay. The breakfast was adequate but they refuse to vary from the menu at all i.e. No Fried bread instead of hash brown and also don't do porridge! Which surprised me. I started to feel ill on 3rd day and came home with a stinking cold and cough. Tiny pool and car park so we had to park some distance away in the road. All in all I'll give it a generous 6/10. Sorry we won't be back.

Very polite and helpful staff. Lovely setting for a special occasion. Would have liked to have been offered more tea or coffee.

Parking was the only gripe here, as it is bereft of space. The staff were lovely and helpful, and the interior was well-kept. Lunch/Tea was a welcome pleasure after a long day on the beach. If I didn't have to work, I could have sat and read a book in the garden, or conservatory with great pleasure.

Loved the weekend spent here. Staff friendly and helpful. Will certainly visit again. Only issue is the lack of parking, just 7 spaces for the entire hotel. It's a long up hill walk from the nearest public car park, so suggest you drop your luggage first.(especially if you are disabled) Or it's hope you can grab a space on the side of the road close to the hotel.

Two night stay using Travelzoo deal. Room was small but clean and well equipped. Hotel was having second floor refurbishment, this did not cause any inconvenience. Use the retaurant on both nights as very little available close by or in Swanage. Food was good and plenty of it. Fish pie first night and fish cakes on second night, Enjoyed.Would stay again.

Amazing stay and lovely staff. Wide range of items on the menu cooked really well and really good value. Pay the extra and get a sea view room. It's really worth it!

A lovely hotel with very friendly staff serving excellent meals. Our sea view room offered wonderful views across Swanage and out to sea. Booked through Travelzoo to obtain excellent value stay.

We had our wedding reception here on 5th November. The staff were brilliant and the food was lovely. They accommodated us really well, nothing was too much trouble. All the staff acted professional and stayed in good spirit throughout the day. The venue was very clean and having the sea view from each window made it perfect.We also stayed the night at the grand and really enjoyed our stay. The room had a sea view and a very modern bathroom, again also very clean.Breakfast was lovely too. The manager lindsey did such a good job of making our day go so smoothly and the staff who worked that day were very professional and friendly. I would highly recommend The Grand Hotel!!
