Long John’s in Purbeck

The potion size of the large fish at £6.95 is small!! Not worth the money, and chips soggy! We were visiting the area, the chip shop on the high st had a queu, clearly for good reason. 2 x large cod and large chips £22! Not worth it stand in line at the other chip shop.

Made the mistake of visiting whilst on holiday - Very poor quality fish and chips...Paid for a Large Cod, but got a small/medium Cod that was 50% batter... How you could serve up something like that I really don't know.The guy who cooked it could see it was pathetic, the guy who served it could also see - yet there it was, a small piece of thin chewy Cod, with half the serving just batter !You might get away with sub-standard fish & chips in the summer months, but this is February and you need to look after your locals, who keep you going out of holiday season.You really need to do much better and, PLEASE, do try and take some pride in the food you serve up !!

The best fish and chips I've had in a while, well done to the young employee who cooked it, hopefully they take cash soon.

Really good freshly cooked chips, would have rated a 5 because we wanted saveloy as well but were out of stock 😢

Very expensive ,too much batter on the fish. We had 1 large and 1 regular cod with 2 regular chips and it was over £17 . I wouldn't recommend this fish and chip shop

As always, delicious light, crispy, dry batter around lovely white cod and a generous portion of chips; however for the first time I was a little disappointed the ‘standard’ cod was less than half the size of the ‘large’ we also ordered.

It has often been said if there is a queue outside a fish and chip shop then you are in for a treat. That was infact the case yesterday evening. With a wait of about 15 minutes whilst orders were completed for other equally eager members of the public, cooked whilst you wait, number 54 was called out. Collected my order from a correctly masked member of staff and drove to my holiday accommodation. Was I in for a treat, lovely light crispy batter, perfect white cod flesh inside cooked to perfection. Well done.

Photos speak for themselves 2 weeks on the trot this has happened served portions that size as large and regular! Not impressed sausage had explode and was roxk hard whole thing in the bin as noone wanted to come and collect and replace it! If its not missing items it's this. And that's after paying £4 delivery! and still having to make a minimum order!! Don't know whats changed in that particular shop will be finding somewhere new from now on.

Wow. Staying in this area and found this on the off chance.This has to be one of the best fish n chips I ever had. Simply amazing. When my youngest daughter is asking if I can come back get her more. I know it’s been a good service.Well done.
