Love Cake etc in Purbeck

Fantastic "indulgent" little eatery two roads back from shore road in Swanage (right of the town center). From Shore road take one of the tiny lanes almost opposite the ice cream kiosk facing the sea and make your way through narrow "curiosity lanes" to this fabulous tea/lunch cafe. It has the most fantastic selection of freshly homemade cakes...Bliss !..We ordered a Welsh rarebit to eat as a late lunch, lip-smackingly good !! Then we bought cake "to go" and some very yummy chocolate dipped stem ginger biscuits. This is a "Gem" of a place. Not to be missed if visiting Swanage!

One of best places to visit when coming to swanage. Great service and lovely food and drinks option for all ranges/diets even has a breakfast and tapas nights. Highly recommend to book anytime as it is always busy but it never feels crowded when full inside.

Was beginning to lose hope of finding somewhere nice to eat in Swanage until I found this lovely place. Amazing food, cakes & coffee and the staff were so friendly. Just wished I lived closer.

Absolutely perfect, cosy cafe with one of the best cake display i have seen. Freshly made and delicious. Huge slices A larger seating area downstairs so don"t be put off if it looks busy.

Amazing afternoon tea! The cakes and sandwiches were lovely so fresh and soft! The service was great too. Highly recommend and can't wait to come back!

The quality of product at Love Cake is superb. Any visitor to Swanage really must visit for a meal, (Breakfasts a great and a good variety) or at the very least a slice of exquisite cake and a coffee. Staff are very friendly and service good.

Same trip different location & café - 'Love Cake; is definitely worth a visit if you're in Swanage and need food. Recommend smashed avocado on toasted sourdough bread topped with feta cheese, chilli jam & pomegranate seeds - We also shared a slice of tiramisu cake - recommend a visit

Very good food - perfect place for an afternoon lunch or an evening tea. Good vegetarian choices for food and hearty meals. Their specials are worth a try.We tried their falafel soul food and a toastie on sourdough. Tasty food and good portions. Both had plenty of salad with a light dressing on each.Accessible and central location - close to the high street. Staff is very friendly. The place gets busy during lunch times - try to get a reservation if possible in advance. Plenty of seating available. Outdoor seating recommended on a nice weather day.Parking is not available on site, need to use street parking. But can easily park near high street and walk to this place.

Great vegan options! Stopped for lunch at this quaint café in the middle of the main street and ordered soup of the day and avocado toast, simple and yum - great attention to details. Amazing selection of cakes and organic groceries as well. Lovely service. Middle range prices.

First time at Love Cake and it lives up to the ratings. The place we usually go to was closed so I asked a local shop keeper for a recommendation and this was it. Can't beat local knowledge! Cakes were amazing, cream tea was very high quality, lovely jam. But the best bit was the tea, they fill their own tea bags and it was very tasty. Staff very accomodating and attentive. Highly recommended.
