Had two great meals over two days this weekend at The Ship, roast was amazing on Sunday and the Rump steak with peppercorn sauce and rustic chips and Chicken, bacon and avocado salad were exceptional today. The staff are efficient and very friendly. Would recommend this venue to anyone.

Love this place, travelled 9 miles from my hotel to eat tea, the staff are really helpful and polite and the food is out of this world, really good prices and nice portions.

We had an excellent lunch at the Ship Inn and would highly recommend it.Portions - Very generous, with even the 'kids' meals coming in at an above average size.Food - we had the classic burger, club sandwich, and kids meal fish n chips. All of these were very good. The fish was nicely battered - crispy outside and moist inside; The club sandwich was generously-filled with toast chicken, ham, and cheese; the burger was tasty and nicely balanced. One nitpick - the patty was a tad overdone at medium-well, but that didn't reduce its juiciness.Service - wonderful. 2 gentlemen were running the bar and front of house, and both were prompt, efficient, courteous, and made time to humour my kids even though it was a busy day.

We've been to Swanage a few times and love the area but have generally been disappointed with the pubs. The Ship is the best we have found so far. Friendly staff and good service. Range of drinks is good - if you like real ale try Sea Fury - lovely , treacly dark beer. We ate there one night- reasonable pub food, good size portions. Main criticism would be there is limited indoor seating for people who only want to drink.

Ist time visit here, various items on the menu and good descriptions of all options available. The wine list was varied and the bar was well stocked. The food was excellent quality and good value. The service was very good, the toilets were very clean and airy. Will go again when my family visits.

Haven't been in here for a while, and was pleasantly surprised with the look of the place and friendly staff and service.Had a Sunday roast, and it was very nice, and think it was reasonably priced. My daughter fish n chips was nice too.. very nice chips.. think the pees could've been cooked a little less though π¬

I had the chicken, bacon and avocado salad. I asked for the tomato and onion to be left out, as I have quite severe reactions to them. It was massive and delicious, sadly it was missing the avocado, but they full to capacity, with a lot of new staff, so I was not able to get anyones attention. I did mention it later to the young man that cleared our plates, but just said he had only been there 2 weeks and I don't think he understood what I was saying. I then mentioned it to the barman that had taken our order and he was very apologetic, so I am sure that if I had managed to get someone's attention it would have been rectified. My husband had a gluten free classic burger, which he said was good. Despite the mistake with the avocado, the pub was clean, staff were friendly and the portions were definitely not skimpy so it deserves the 5 stars in my opinion.
