"The Anchor Inn Swanage is a beautiful pub on the Jurassic Coast, Isle of Purbeck. We are in the centre of town, less than 5 minutes’ walk from the beach! This 400-year-old building truly exudes charm – the perfect setting for our family friendly establishment that has just undergone recent refurbishment."

Eaten twice recently in this pub. Lovely meals both times with friendly attentive staff. Dog friendly is also a bonus for us. Think this will become another Swanage favorite.

It was our first time at The Anchor tonight. The meal was fabulous. Delicious and beautifully presented. We were served by Jodi who was amazing. Great service & great food.

Whilst visiting Swanage called into The Anchor. What a lovely pub. The food was exceptional. Share the Nachos - but wished I’d had my own as they were so lovely. Next had the risotto which was unbelievable with the chargrilled chicken and my husband had the Lamb and red wine Anchor pie - which again was delicious. Cannot recommend The Anchor enough.

Looked nice. Only one person behind the bar who wasn't able to get the help when needed re our drinks order and ended up waiting 20 minutes for 2 pints whilst the people in our party got theirs and drank them by the time missing drinks served (which we had to go back to the bar and ask for). Bar person was doing her best but on her own.

Been to Swanage many times and never fancied going into this pub. However noticed it had changed hands last year. So.we decided to have dinner and a few drinks. What a cosy, chilled and pleasant atmosphere it now has. The food was absolutely delicious. The staff and service was excellent and prices were what you would expect. Would definitely recommend the Anchor and we will return.

Such a charming little pub. We came across this place on our first night in Swanage. The staff were immediately friendly and made us feel welcomed. We ordered our dinner, which was from the Christmas menu and we were not disappointed. First came out warm bread with mixture of butter and oil for dipping (was so lovely didn’t even take a picture) we ordered the burger with the Brie and OMG my taste bud have never experienced such a perfect burger! The cheese cake… I couldn’t get enough! It was perfect.

A group of 8 turned up on a Monday evening and we were warmly welcomed by friendly staff members. Tables were quickly re-arranged to accommodate us. The food was outstanding and we all enjoyed every mouthful. Definitely a place to return to - as soon as possible!

Eaten here a couple of times recently and both times the food has been excellent, the service very good and the overall experience very enjoyable.I would like to see some vegetarian food (not vegan), although the vegan options were good; but that’s the case in many places nowadays.Did feel a little squashed in, but didn’t detract much from the eveningCertainly the best pub in town for a meal. And finally....What happened when the news reporter fell into the water? She became an anchor...

Recently had dinner in the anchor during our stay in swanage, and to say I was impressed would be an understatement. The menu was varied, with vegan options. I had the belly of pork, and it was not only cooked to perfection, but beautifully presented too. I would not label this as "pub grub" as the quality of the food was way beyond that. Top marks too to the table staff, who were very attentive. My new "go to" place to eat whenever I'm next in swanage. Highly recommended.
