The Globe Inn in Purbeck

We found this place towards the end of our stay in Swanage and its the nicest and friendliest place - the couple who run the place are lovely, the locals were smiley, the beer tasted like it should do and the place was just nice to be in without being a fancy pants posh pub. Dog friendly and Thursday night had the added bonus of the visiting Coastal Crust Pizza. Venture a little way out of town, well worth it.

This is an excellent pub, run by lovely people. The food is superb. Nice garden at the back. The Globe is a great supporter of live music and a very good venue for live music shows. Also good drinks and real ale and friendly locals.

Great little pub tucked away on route into Swanage, good selections of real ales, open fire and dog friendly 🍺😊

For ages I have looked at this pub and thought I must visit. One cold windy Sunday was meant to be walking up to the nature reserve and beyond, but fancied a quick pint en route....Then I got chatting. Wonderful staff, great landlord and lady, brilliantly friendly regulars and my walk ground to a halt. But it was replaced with a lovely afternoon near the coal fire, with good beer.And finally, nothing to do with the pub, but hopefully to make you smile....I bought a crystal ball but only ever predicted very cold winters.Turns out they sold me a snow globe.

Lovely, local pub. Roaring fire, landlady and landlord were so friendly. Dogs welcome and treats available. Very relaxed atmosphere. Will be back.

Very friendly and charming. We managed to get some stone baked pizza from another onsite business. Lovely little garden to eat, drink and relax in.

Really nice little local pub. Popped down there late afternoon for a couple of pints. Beer is good and land lady was lovely. Got our first pint at the bar and then she came over for table service for the last two. Would highly recommend this pub!

Landlord more interested in himself and his regular customers. Slightly arrogant and disinterested. Other staff by contrast were polite. On second visit were made to feel unwelcome so didn't to go in again. Food was actually of a good standard, cooked by the landlord! Perhaps a better cook than host.

Nice country type pub. Friendly staff/owner and made you feel welcome. Only went in for a few beers so can't comment on the food side of things but apparently does a nice Sunday roast. Stayed open a little later than the average country pub. Well worth a visit especially if you have had a curry at the restaurant next door.
